great work on the ship pack fellas. looks great.

if i may, a humble request for the second pack. I dont know if you guys have gotten to this level yet, buy could you mod/skin the Marat like the USS New York, BB-34? It would be a great addition for Battle of the Atlantic maps, she did escort duty there, as well as later Pac scenarios where she provided gunfire support.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get hold of the ships and planes which were to have been included in the PF series.....but ran into legal problems...

Theoretically yes but it would be masochistic to do that without mesh converter. Here is picture of Crimea Barn I used for test.

Thanks so much for the RN CVE, she's already in the Med. BTW, would it be possible
to skin an Essex Carrier w/o the deck numbers, giving us a generic one?

Piece of cake but you need to talk with Archie, he made all of the skins for our mod so I believe that changing one number wouldn't be too hard for him . :lol:

FC it turns out I need Another Illustrious class.
Will it work to add a folder named carrier 3 and then add the corresponding text in the .ini files?

Sine I have the feeling taht it wont work, can you add a carrier 3 if I provide the skin for it?

Can it be the HNLMS Karel Doorman, or does it have to be a WWII skin?
And I am doing the 25 de Mayo, witch is the same boat but under Argentinian flag, If you want it its yours too.

I have the ARA Independencia in the original Ilustrious slot. Its not mine but if interested I might speak with the author of the skin and see if he wants to share it.

This will not work because Ships slots have to be coded in Java but you can temporary replace one of the ships( it must be one from ships.ini) with new carrier. For example you can use DestroyerDmg slot for another carrier.

Copy files from Illustrious to DestroyerDmg folder and copy all entries from ships.ini except name of the ship, this is how it should look.

This info is inside mesh files, you need to make changes with hex editor, it took me plenty of time to figure out how it works because without changing mesh files it would be impossible to make San Jacinto which is coming in next patch.

As this thread is not about ships only I can announce that I'm working on TargetBox objects that can be used as targets for area bombing insted of placing hundreads of cars and trains.

Something we desperately need.

We need to make a new set of "armor" that use infantry as the object.

At the very least the MG42. Give it a speed of ~1kph. We can then have them move, pause and fight, move, and so forth. This would be VERY useful in the PTO. We can also use the hold fire setting so that they wait until the enemy comes within X meters to shoot.

If this can be done, ideally the ROF would be reduced a little.

If this is easy, then I'd like to see a skirmish line (line abreast, rough, pretty widely spaced) of the various troops we have now. Some shouldered, some holding them in front, some shooting. Give it one MG with a low ROF and same slow, 1kph speed.

Another useful inf unit. We use the mesh from the mortar team. Make it artillery. Give it perhaps a 40mm gun (since that is already built in game). Have no chainfire, and add some delay...
