it would be nice to be able to adjust the rate of fire for AA and range of fire for both AA and deck guns on ships.
is this a mod that would be possible?
i know that the range of deck guns on BB's are max 40 kms, and range of deck guns on C/v is approx 15-20 kms destroyers are about 7-10.
aa is set to max on both flack and 20 mm.
thanks .
Rate of Fire = ROF
ROF= reload time .5 is half time 2 is twice the speed
and the range is set to when the guns wake up
so if a plane comes within 400m of a carrier and its set to 300 it wont shoot till 400m
RAF_Leigh is referring to the settings box which you can adjust in the FMB
the rate of fire is 1 by default ....but for a BB or CV that makes for a huge hail of lead...so to make a mission playable we often need to reduce it
a setting of 10 means it takes ten times as long to reload ...at 100 it virtually never fires
but there are more detailed settings in the Technics.ini and ships.ini which data alters number of rounds available per gun/ reload times/ whether it can fire on the move or must stop (for tanks)/ maximum range / angle of travel/speed of turret rotation/etc.
no ofence chap, i have been building campaigns in JFC for over 4 years and know the FMB inside out.
i am fully aware of the ROF settings. that is not my question
The "range" of both the deck gun and the AA guns on ships can not be altered. and the rate of fire for the "AA" guns cannot be altered either. Look at the normal Artillery, it has a hold fire setting, set in meters for AA guns,
this was my request. would someone be able to make a mod so they can be altered.
it would be nice to have an enemy BB or CV or destroyer sitting off the coastline near a landing party,at for example iwo jima defending them, without it completely destroying everything within it range. which would clear the island.
there would need to be a reduction of its fire range to do this. a hold fire setting for both deck and AA guns.
And when 2 ships, US and IJN are close, they firing even with AA guns!
yes, as you highlighted, rof for AA. not for deck guns. and i didnt say you know nothing, i said much about.
