This might be in interest of people here (particularly of Waggel as the modeller and/or any other people involved in the project), and it's related to the "bar issue". I did some testing, I posted the results over at UBI forums. I don't want to mess anything up, I'm just copy pasting these posts here in case anyone (the model builder Waggel in particular) is interested. I do know that "bar removal mod" solves the problem, but maybe the problem isn't solved the right way. Maybe (stressing again, maybe what needs to be done is just 2.5

Hi TinyTim
Thank you for your information. :!:

I always thaught, the altimeter has some problems. Because when you fly 100% level, the altimeter says you flying downstairs. I will make a test flight later in the evening to watch this. I made a graphic just to understand. Please tell me if this is correct.

Hey Waggel,

yes, this is exactly the point. Nice graphics btw! [Image: 25.gif]

Our stock Fw190 is the "red" one on your picture, that's a "rotated" version. However, there is a possibility that the historically correct version is the "blue" one. If that's true, and if the guns and gunsight on the "blue" plane aim straight forward (paralell to the green line, not the blue one), then the bar vanishes completely without any 3D modding of the cockpit. (as can be seen in my upper post and in the video)

Looks like Oleg got 3D model of the cockpit completely accurate, it's just the guns and the sight that are pointed 2.5

Haha! Big Grin the penny is dropped. There are so many 109 experts and they often use a lot of bad words in combat when they fly a 190. The reason:

The 190 has a different aim because of the adjustment bug. A 109 pilot aims an enemy in his 190 with his 109 aim-style and the bullets do not hit.

A 190 pilot has problems with aiming in a 109.

Nice work there TinyTim. I think you have hit on the real nature of the bar problem, from what I have read of the FW nose down attitude. However, it does mean that a player would have to use the 6DOF mod, yes? Also, wouldn't it mean that new slots would have to be created for every FW, so that the FM could be changed to provide a nose down attitude? Personally, and this is just MHO, I am very happy with Fucidas' bar mod.

I would like to know what Waggel and others think. I think it would be a bit strange to have only one FW (Waggel's A3) with a nose down attitude.

The only mods I use, other than the Activator and English Career Mod, are Flushyy's Clouds with Waggels 128x128 tga file and the Bar Mod. I don't want to overload my game with mods, just in case it causes any conflicts. Of course, this is all just MHO. What do others think?

BTW Waggel, is there any good news on the Slot?FM front for Project Wurger?

Yeah, I agree completely. As it is, the bar mod is far more elegant solution, because basically it has the same effect on playing - it removes TehBar

Excellent! Everybody loves Christmas Big Grin

TinyTim Wrote:However! With the new A3 coming, all, truly all that is needed, is that cockpit is rotated 2.5 degrees forward before it is integrated into the external 3D model of the plane. That's it, voila, you have Oleg's 3D model, Oleg's flight attitude, Oleg's cockpit, but no bar.

Does that mean that one wouldn't need the 6DOF mod?

What if someone had the bar mod installed, would that cause a problem with a rotated cockpit?

I agree with you though, whichever way the A3 comes I'll be delighted with it Big Grin

Yes, that means that player would not need 6DOF mod.

That is, under the assumption that modeller places the default PoV (default meaning shifted by Shift-F1) into the cockpit in such a 3D position, that player can see the aiming reticle in the centre of the revi.

Why would bar mod affect the new slot plane anyway? Isn't bar mod coupled only to existing, stock 190 models?

Ahh, I see. That's pretty cool.

Good point. Yeah, I suppose the bar mod would only affect the current models.
