Hi Galoub, This may be a stab in the dark here, but a few of my squad mates were in the same position as you, everything appeared in order but yet they could not save a mission. In desperation we checked the all.ini file and found that there were 2 entries for the Thailand map;

ffb_Thailand ffb_Thailand/load.ini (the thing at the front is a little square box) and
ffb_Thailand Thailand/load.ini - we deleted the little square box and the 2nd line and all was sweet. Don't know if this will help you but worth a look.

Finally got this thing working Confusedhock:

Was a conflict between Canon's object folder and ffb_object folder fighting amongst one another.

Of course, now that I actually have it working, my new engine sounds are gone

A few questions for you,

1) In the Tex folder for map installs I have the Siani map folder, your four files, and canons white chalk file not in seperate folders like ffb_Thailand_TEX, Can_Tex etc but just in the final folder for
_TEx/ land/summer/ etc to the last file (forgive me if I am wrong with detailed file paths Flyzo but I think you and Fred will understand this. Do you need to have seperate ffb_Thailand_Tex and Cannons _Tex folders or not along with the Siani _Tex folder?

2) Could you please tell me the direct file path for the PCP airfield plates? MODS/?

3) Do I have to have your all in one mods installed as I still see just a few things missing in my original static ini.

I put the French flag into my static ini.

in my MODS/MAPMODS/maps/_Tex folder are

land/summer ..which has the dlv_sinai folder & the whitechalk.tga & my fsk midland and airfields tga's and tgb's

PCP plate (Lal_Rone's one) goes in MODS/MAPMODS/3do/airfield/PCP and there are four tga files

my all-in-one was a later variant of my damage mod...shouldn't be necessary

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have the Maps _Tex folder as you have.

I think the PCP Plate folder may be the culprit.
I installed as a folder on its in just in MODS NOT IN MAP MODS
Will try that tonight.

I just have about three objects that I can not see in the FMB list near the end I have to look at those closely tonight. You can't view them in 3do and the square is blue.

THNKSFRED I HOPE THIS is possibly the little glitch.

Well,
The PCP plates went into the MAP MODS last night but still the map is not saving.
I went through my original static ini and found most of the objects that were missing like your sand bags mods in another download of yours in my seperate download file
I just didn't have them in the game as yet.
One question
I can see the Thai farm but tell me more about the Thai Pagoda.
Is it similar to the huge Burma pagoda in the normal objects list?
If so I haven't got that object any where in my seperate download file or in game.
I've downloaded patch 2b and its great.

Just keen to fly soon.

ps When are you in Chaing Mai next time?

Hi!

I got my gfxproblem solved by installing 8.6 Cat drivers. Map loads and saves wonderfully in FMB.
But I still get extremely low FPS (below 10 fps) over villiages and towns. Over open landscape and airfield hangars everything is fine again.

I think this is very odd because actually there are not many objects in these built up areas in comparison with other maps which do not show these fps drops.

When I try to edit the downloaded missions for the map I cannot move or delete the buildings or objects in the built up areas.

Is this supposed to be this way or is something missing in my mod configuration? Also these object are not recognised by the FMB as objects.

Hi Fabianfred !

I have installed your map, with the two patches, and all works fine for me. No problem in saving under FMB too.
Just a little thing that is wrong: when putting stationary ships in Rangoon Harbor, they are not enough deep in the water (they are just posed on the surface).
But it's really a nice map ! Thanks again !

Excuse my english.

Cheers !

@ Mcmart ... the Buildings which i have built into the map cannot be removed in the normal FMB...but you can use the Destruction tab and destroy them....

cannot see why you are getting an FPS drop...as you say the towns are lightly populated :?

@ Crimar ... The water in the rivers is all above sea-level and so as soon as you get any distance from the sea then ships will 'float' in the air.... that is also why I cannot use the normal bridges :?
To have rivers at sea level means they are often at the bottom of deep canyons which look ridiculous...

@ Farang ... the Thai Pagoda I just copied the usual burmese one...and made a new tga ...but it only differs slightly from the original, so i didn't include it in the download to save space....so for you, the two will look the same

Don't worry about any Objects which do not show up in the FMB little 'box' .... they are items which are listed in the static.ini but there is no folder of info for them in your MODS....they will not be on any map...so shouldn't cause any trouble...just ignore them
Not forgetting that there are also 'invisible' plates there too which of course will show nothing in the little box...and the kronstadt plates and airfield plates do not show there either.

Learning from another thread in this section I have now made an ed_map_t.tga file..which helps a bit with the moving ships and enables them to go a bit further up some of the river mouths...

You can easily make your own by doing this...

Open the ffb_Thailand map folder....... copy and paste the map_t.tga into the same folder.... then rename the copy to ed_map_t.tga ...it is already listed in the load.ini file

Hi Fabianfred!

Thank you for your answer. Destroing your objects is not an option as they are to beautiful Wink.

Nevertheless I did some testing by subsequently deleting the object folders. The objects causing my problem are the objects in the flora folder.

The fps drop or gfx distortion only appear at a certain view distance. I can also observe this fps drop in FMB when looking straight down and zooming in onto the ground.

So my quite uneducated guess is that there is something bugged with the grafics of your palms for a special distance. When I use 16bit texture compression the gfx distortion does not occur but the fps drop remains.

Perhaps you can have a look into this.

regards McMart

P.S.

Is it possible for me to quickly fix the actors static file in order to be able to edit and save the map in FMB by editing the non binary part of the file?

Maybe there is a driver problem with your GPU ...I have never experienced any FPS drop

and as for messing with the actors.static...... do so at your own risk!
