OK ....
using the ships.ini included with the pack...everything works OK

if you are afraid of losing my ship damage model....just alter the following right at the top of the ships.ini


nothing else was changed by me

my damage mod only affected the strength of the ships guns against nearby explosions or rocket/cannon fire ...no changes were made to the hull strength or relative ability to sink any ships

I think not, on my PC everything works. :? Try to put these lines instad of yours in Stationary.ini.

This "medicine" has not helped.
I tried to re-write all lines in INI files.
The same result: 4 invisible ships.

Check up, please, a file the ship.ini in folders STD and AddTo Ini.
In this file some ships ([b]CVL24, CVL23, CVL30, USSMcKean, Transport1

strange gyus, I have all ships normal visible in FMB & in game without problems, but I dont use type "copy a paste" in ini

the copy/paste method into my own ini's didn't work...so i used the ini's which came with the mod.... and then copied any changes from mine into them

I have come to a conclusion, that the problem of these 4 ships is not connected to mods.

There is an experience of some users for which the ShipsPack-2 normally works.
This experience speaks, that the method to copy/paste

Yes they do use the same .ini but so do a lot of other things.

The Java classes are completely unrelated though and the ini entries are in completely different places.

To start diagnosing problems when you don't even have the thing that you are suggesting is the problem is not really that scientific is it.

I was a little harsh above...I am sorry and I know that you are trying to help :-)

Since according to Fabianfred, the problem does not come from his mod, it may come from another mod? When doing copy/paste from a stock ships.ini file, there may be no pb. When doing copy/paste from Fabianfred's ships.ini, there may be no pb either. But in my ships.ini I had all the modifications indicated by Fabianfred above, plus others, which concern damage to hulls. I also discovered I had a missing section (thank you Winmerge!).

I checked whether the other differences came from LAL R-One's destruction mod, which also includes a ships.ini, and I noticed the same missing section, but there are other differences which may come from another mod, I forgot which one it may be.

So there maybe a missing portion in Shippack 2's add-to ships.ini: this is the following part:

This mod is excellent. Made a convoy or two and it looks wonderful (can a one object moving convoy be created with ships like you can do with armor or trains?)

A lack of correct ships has always been an issue for me with Pacific Fighters. Creating the Classname ship for each class would be the goal of many a mission builder. Any chance of a tutorial for dummies?

Your work is appreciated and you do so MUCH for the community that I feel bad even mentioning additional ships. If you published some how to steps maybe a few of us could start the grunt work and help you with your next ship pack (or at your direction make a newer one)

I know how hard you've worked on this and don't want to seem unappreciative, it's just that now that you've shown us the possibilities, I can see the potential of making it right.

Thanx FC for all your hard work. I have d/l but have not attempted an install. I guess this could be
more complicated but I can't imagine how, as vampire_pilot said, "only for hardcore file-fiddlers".
Right now I'm too faint of heart to risk losing pack 1. Would love the CVLs but I'll wait abit and see
what shakes out. Thanx again for all your hard work.

actually it's not *that* hard but sometimes one comes across people on these boards that may not be able to open an ini file and copy something there... but want to Mod anyway and get everything click and forget.

actually with the sightly new structure of the community pack one has to know where copies of files my be hidden that can cause a 70% crash.
but I have the community pack + tank pack + object pack + ship pack 2 up and running Smile
so not too hard if I can do it Wink

actually, just store copies of all files you alter and try your luck. if you fail you can allways go back to the status before. easy enough.

I had the shippack 2 installed then I put in a fresh install for the Unified Installer. I tried to reinstall the shippack 2 as I prevously did but now I am getting a crash at 70%. I tried all of the things I could think of but I am not too savvy at changing things. Is there something between the New UI that is stopping the ships from being recognized and crashing the game? I deleated all of the stuff from the shippack 2 and the game loads fine. But I do want the shippack back into my game. Any Help would be great, thanks.
