[MOD] AI Mod V.17 *UPDATE*

Certificate, this is one of the best mods since since AAA opened up!!! Im very very grateful!!!!

playing once i saw how Ju-88's rear gunner shot down 4(!) AI P-51s, they were attacking junkers from rear and the gunner with 7.92mm MG just knocked out their engines. I was unpleasantly surprised. That was before installing this mod. And now, afrer installing the mod a single P-51 brings down a flight of Ju-88s, because he uses right tactic. Thank you, certificate !! Big Grin

Just tried V1.3 in some QMB missions. Ordered my second element to attack the bombers too: Confusedhock:

Not bad at all! Not to mention he also had the forethought to target the leader as well. :wink:
After the merge, he broke down instead of up. Which put him at an altitude disadvantage. Apart from that though, it was one of the most interesting kills I've ever seen an AI make.

Unfortunately, no. The ai will know where you are as long as your're within x metres from it. That distance "x" is dependent on the ai skill level.

Will it be possible to randomly divide flying skills from shooting skills or have generally divergent ACM skills for IA?

Just a heads up for anyone who hasnt noticed a difference, the self installer created another MODS entry in my MODS folder containing CERT_AI.. resulting in IL2/MODS/MODS/CERT_AI...

Just move the CERT_AI.. folder into MODS and delete the extra MODS folder.

It will be great to have the aforementioned change with attacks from the SUN))

Just move the CERT_AI.. folder into MODS and delete the extra MODS folder.

Just point the installer to the IL2 folder instead of the Mods folder to prevent that.

Cert, I hosted for my squad last night, I had 8-12 guys all night online, with nearly 20 going in and out through the night and the AI remained impressive! It at times was difficult to tell the AI from the live players.

I think the best thing about this mod is the randomness, I actually had an AI attacker break off and head home last night for no apparent reason. That's cool.

I was wondering if there is any indication if this mod helps AI planes from flying straight into mountainsides or canyon walls, when they otherwise have plenty of clearing space should they lift their nose of make a simple turn.

It's a difficult thing to make happen on purpose, but it happens when least you expect it.

This is very good, thank you! I played a few dogfight missions and was impressed how close the planes came to each other. I also saw a clear difference in the range of defensive tactics employed.

However, this evening I tried it (v1.13) on a huge anti-bomber series of missions. In the first one, the attack is frontal. The 109G6's did a great head on attack but then turned around and flew slowly through the middle of the formation of around 60 B-17s until they were shot to pieces and exploded.
bit of a shame.

I tried it on a similar mission but this time the 109s 9plus 110G2's and fw190's) started from the rear or the sides of the formation of B17s. Usually the fighters and Zerstoerers plow in and down a few planes with their curious high-lo style attack. This time they just flew in a straight line through the formation before being hacked to pieces by the gunners.

I tied it again after putting a "-" in front of the mod folder and they reverted to more aggressive attacks from the rear.

I definitely think you have done great work on this mod in general though.

Has anyone else reported similar behaviour -namely 'inert' interceptor AI in trailing attacks or after their initial head-on passes (which alone should earn you a medal, certificate).

Will this work in online coops? Will both server and client need the file, or just the server?

This is a great little Mod m8 and thanks for all the updates too 8)

I have testet V.12 and V.13.
In 1.13 I have made a Mission whis 80 B17 Bombers and 10 FW109

Before this Mod there was a Real Battle..., now whis 1.13 They are nearly doing nothing...
There is only a little fight from the front 12:oo Clock, then The FW190 turn back, try to
overtook the B17 and nothing habppens.........

I turned back to Mod1.12...this is better, there is more action in the air!!
