Hi guys,
I was exited too with this new toy...
Kudos to PeterD!!!
Here is my first attempt to illustrate Korean War, USAF pilots...
After just one day researching, I've got 3 summer outfits, featuring:
Detailed, khaki drill or olive drab overalls with dark blue, thin summer, flight jacket.
Accurate for the period life jacket, back type parachute and harness and anti-g suit.
I also detailed the oxygen mask a bit and added leather rim to the flight helmet.
(I have some work to do still, to align the pilot faces perfectly.but I'm too tired right now).
Hope you like them...
To PeterD:
Is there a way to have a different helmet skins per pilot skin and not one universal?
About the pilot that "looses" his helmet upon bail out...
It happens because the 3D model of the pilot changes to the "paratrooper" one.
From the "beggining of time", in FB series, the bailling out pilots are loosing their goggles every time they hit the silk... :?

@ Tesla, that is a great photo, you must be proud! 8)
@ peterD, great work with this plane, thank you very much, hope this gets the fm it deserves soon.
I was wondering, seeing the great job you did with the custom pilot, if you'd be interested in doing some new WW2 era pilots too? I really think the default generic 'tank helmet' model seriously needs a replacement. Imagine one of these in the German planes:
Anyway sorry for the mini thread hijack.

Excelent work guys. Love this plane. Been hoping we would get it sometime; was a great surprise today. This and the Miles Magister in one day? Hats off to all involved. Salute!

An F-86 in IL2...Who'd a thunk it! Spent waaaay too much time playing with
this last night. Thanks for turning it loose, it's a real "sweat bird" to fly!

what are those trasers? the smoke trails?
01.04.2009, 20:21
Not from the .50's from that Sabre.. looks like something is shooting over his shoulder from the left side..

JAGR,
There is a smoke mod for the .50 cal tracers in the forums.

They are most likely 20mm trails though.

Looks too thick to be 20mm, I'm guessing the 30's from another Ta or a Me-262 by the concentration of the smoke. But I could be wrong.

Hey Elephant, I wonder if this helmet could somehow be used with the F-80A?
01.04.2009, 21:59
Gotta question.
How can I adjust the opacity of the goggles on the pilot?

Hey Elephant,
What are the chances of you posting that pilot skin with the scarf? I've been looking for one like that. Can't seem to make my own for some reason. Guess I just have not figured it out yet.
