I don't understand why this happens. In my install of 1.2, I did not have to adjust anything...the folders were already enabled or disabled as they were supposed to be, and it is not necessary to delete the RED folders, as long as they are disabled (named as shown in the instruction screenshot). I was able to pass CRT=2 on WoP servers, out-of-the-box.

I'm wondering if some people are getting CRC errors, and the install goes on to completion, however, it does not run insert.bat afterwards.

I have no idea whats going on. Ive followed every instruction, ive tested the files in winrar, and ive unpacked them to a separate folder first to test for errors. Unfortunately my propblem is not an isolated one, many people cant fly certain aircraft.

For now im sticking to 4.09m servers

Could somebody send us the complete list of things to check in order to pass CRT?

I did a complete clean install and still get CRT=2 failed timeout 1 messages.....

I MADE IT!

Two things you need:
1. a clean download (no corrupt files) and I have to thank a good soul who let me d/l his clean files ( won't give away his name otherwise he will get flooded with the same demands)
2. the courage to start from scratch!

I did as most of us: cleaned out my previous modded version and installed the different UIs over it. THIS DOES NOT WORK. I had a completely cluttered version from the first day I started with IL2 (yes!). When I finally erased it (keeping just the user files in order to have my settings and the config.ini), I found out that there were many remnants of previous mods stuck somewhere in hidden places. I used Revo Uninstaller then CCleaner to get rid of all that stuff (all of them are freeware) and cleaned out my registry with jv16 Powertools 2009 (works well for me over all these years, worth the money).
Installed everything following Monguse's description step by step. In order to be safe, I used Winrar to decompress everything which gave me a clean install.

Important if you use Winrar, you have to click on install.bat after you decompressed UI 1.2. This way you will see those mods you have to eliminate or to disable according to the picture in Monguse's install manual.

It worked immediately perfectly without any dreaded CRT=2 failed timeout=1 message.

A little sidenote: In order to be able to use 4.09m I installed the Warbirds of prey switcher which works well.

Sounds like the problem I'm having - will give it a go.

I have tried to run 2 versions of IL2 and as soon as I fly the other mod'd one - I get the cr2 on the UI1.2 which worked fine before.

It does mean I can probably only have one version - but I'll see what the registry throws up - maybe there's a way to sort that!

I did the Eckhart way but still a no go.

I have got past crt twice. On a pc that never had il2 on it and on my normal pc after I had formatted the whole thing, reinstalled windows etc and installed to 1.2. Worked fine. Then I copied a separate il2 game in to it's own folder and played that. When I went back to 1.2: crt....

I bought a rego cleaner and can see the files you were talking of Eckhart, clean them but no go. Having worked at this for a week now I think I can safely say that some mods we have in some of our games may cross between games through some process.

I going back to formatting windows tonight, installing 1.2 and 4.09m etc and not installing any other version of IL2 whatsoever.

Will let you know how it goes. If it works, I'm backing up the system there and then...
