if u read that particular vid's info it says IL2 AND Armed Assault
armed assualt? what does that mean? is that another game? yea, i said some parts were not IL2 footage, but that wouldnt change the IL2 footage would it?
ahh yes, it says armed assault is a 'game engine'...hmmm. thats a step in the right direction, thx EoW_WhamO_CO
You can get smooth pans using track IR with the sensor mounted on a tripod or dolly while you re-record rushes from your .trk file on playback. Tracking friendly or enemy from your camera pov works well.
You can also pan and zoom in Sony Vegas or Final Cut. A hell of a lot easier than using the mouse, and totally smooth. Only drawback is a slight loss of resolution at high zoom.
Camera angles can be altered for "fly by view" in conf.ini. I have a range of values I can paste in.
eg-
[HookViewFly Config]
timeFirstStep=10.2
deltaZ=270.3
deltaY=3.0
deltaX=10.0
or
[HookViewFly Config]
timeFirstStep=6.6
deltaZ=-40.7
deltaY=3.0
deltaX=80.0
experiment with other values for Z and X
+ of course theres the "camera plane " mod and some novel camera angles from the PAT smoke mod.
hang on, i made no sense of that, track IR? tripod? (with a tripod are you saying use an external sensor???) hmmm, this stuff sound alot more complex than i thought! im whonder if theres any program or mod that I can use to 'render' animation sequences. Or am i not even in the right ball feild?
The Ubi Movie Makers forum is about dead. I think Joe Boyd stops by every full moon but not many others. I tried reading through older posts and watch older videos but most of the links are dead as well.
I think this forum is the best thing going now for IL2 movie makers.

yea, ive just found basically the same thing. apparently there is a IL2 invisible plane camera that you can use, its a mod here somewhere in AAA. but havnt found it.
hay nuk3m!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have I ran across you before? Are you Dneed from the Medieval 2 total war cin ed forums? the voice on the youtube movie you posted sounds the same, i may be wrong though.
yea, thanks for that movie!! I am more interested in trying to get nice pans and camera angles that the actual in game camera positions cannot render for you. I see amazing movies that people make with really cool camera footage of the planes and things.
