[Request] Civilian population
#16

For all the great looking aircraft and now more realistic maps, this sim has always had a very sterile almost dead feel to anything happening on the ground. No randomness at all. If that could be changed all the better. I hope SOW will bring that to the game at the outset.

Really guys, being able to see fire trucks wandering around, civilian vehicles on the roads, farms and so and civilian population to tone up (or down) the ambience sounds like a very good idea to me, i hope somebody can make that happen Big Grin

We really need a bigger variety of ground objects.

Having civs running around would be a FPS killer, but civilian vehicles as stationary objects would be a great addon!!!

Ditto more types of tanks and other military hardware.

Good point, but I have had at one time, at least 1000 plus Soldiers and movers on a "battle field" and they did noting to lower my FPS, anyways, I adopted an attitude of "do what your machine can handle" and I would like to see some type of "civilian" down the road. Happy Holidays fellas

Well that's all nice and dandy but it's still a far cry from the 7-odd million of Londoners during the Blitz...

Aye, but I very much doubt they were frolicking around outside during a bombing run Wink

...which bring us back to what i said a bit further above, that there wouldn't be civilians outside anyway during the bomb raid, but others said they'd like to have them anyway...

Maybe a bit too light-hearted after the previous post, but perhaps this is what Georges is looking for in the way of air-raid wardens? The renowned and much admired Jane from the Daily Mail. Vera Lynn may have been the British war-time sweetheart but Jane was a favorite too.

a larger file should anyone wish to make use of it as background. Would be just the thing for the in-game background screen.

A Camera-civilian/human perhaps?

We have a cameraship mod around, so why not a cameraperspective with human eyeheight being able to walk around..

What an idea. Great. You could name him Ed Murrow in London for instance or Robert Capa in SCW maps ... or how about Lee Miller when the Allies head into the Reich?
