[MOD] AMT - Spitfire L.F. Mk.XVIe Pack Version 1.0
#76

Hi everybody,

I am new in MODS and I have a problem.

I started with a 4.09m version. I installed ENG_Sound_mod_Version_093.exe, then the WRAPPER.exe and then the AC_INSTALLER_v3.8.exe

The sound MOD works fine. I have the russian screen instead of my french usual one.

I download the buttons file too, and I replace the existing one.

I installed the switch 4.09/4.08 wich seems to work well.

I then tried to install this very exciting spitfire MOD. Il downloaded the file and launched it. I can't find any air.ini file on my computer (french version, W7). I found the two other ones and I modified them trough the notepad with no difficulties.

When I launch Il2, I have nothing concerning the new spit. My only problem seems this missing air.ini file, but I am not sure everything is OK.

If somebody could help, it would be fine...

The AC installer should of given you an air.ini file but if you don't have it look for it in the files folder, just search your il2 game for air.ini and then put that file where the read me says it should be found in.

That's what I did. When I say I can't find it, that's with a search in the entire IL2 folder.

When I run the AC installer, it asks for a choice (from 1 to 6). I choose the option sound mode 9.3. Is it the right one ? there is also
4 MOD-ACTIVATOR
5 SFX VER 0.6
6 AAA UNIFIED INSTALLER

Thanks for your help

Yes the option you chose is correct. Try downloading and installing the Spitfire XIV mod on this site. If it installs correctly you should have an air.ini as that AAA installer should automatically update your air.ini or give you one if you don't have one. If that works then just put in the air.ini entries from the Spit XVI.

F22-Raptor-2006 Wrote:It uses the same engine sounds as the either the spit 9s or the p51s so unless there is a problem with the internal sound on those aircraft there shouldn't be a problem with this one. I dunno why you have that problem but everyone else seems to be fine.

I had a sound problem after install too. The Spit XVI seemed to have the nasty IL2 default sound and the F4 F6 F2 A20 etc. lost their Cockpit sound, a problem I keep running into now and again installing some New Aircraft. Followed instructions to the letter, but I guess everyone has a different Mod install nowadays that is bound to cause these things to happen. BTW Im not complaining, I know you have to put the work in if you are going to run a modded game, very good work on this aircraft

Thats what I did. I installed the spit for this site. A still have no air.ini file. I have lots of *.ini files (config.ini, all.ini, ...). I tried to have a look inside those file, but noting seems to look like the text to copy into the air.ini file.

I am lost...

The spit doesn't work. I can't see it.

So, I finally installed an another aircraft : the tempest MK11. The install seem more automatic. I then found an air.ini file in the MODS directory. I changed it as indicated into the spit install process.

But now, I just can't launch Il2 in MODS option. If I switch to IL2 4.08 or 4.09 without MODS (MODS OFF) : no problem, it works fine. If I switch to Il2 4.08 or 4.09 with MODS option ON, then Il2 crashes

All other aircarfts are working fine. I installed :
B29 silver plate
Spit MK XIV
Tempest 11 & 13

They all work.

I can see the spit XVI in the list of aircraft, but if I choose it, the A20 is selected (first in the list).

Ah ok that makes much more sense. Now that means you missed out a step in the instructions. Since you're not using the big mod packs you need step 2 i think it is. They are weapon clases from SAS. You need to download that and put it into yoru mods folder. Once done your game will work fine and you should be able to select the spitfires without a problem.

OK. I downloaded this file. It weights 22 Ko while compressed, but when I expand this file, there is only a folder called : "1v SAS Weapons Classes"

Inside this folder, there is a file "desktop.ini" weighting only 1 Ko.

Inside this file, I found this :

[.ShellClassInfo]
ConfirmFileOp=0
IconFile=
IconIndex=
OriginalIconFile=
OriginalIconIndex=

I put the folder "1v SAS Weapons Classes" into the MODS folder of IL2 folder, and it doesn't help.

However, I'am sure it comes from this weapon stuff. Do you have the file that should be in the archive ? The one I downloaded from the SAS server seems to be empty.

Maybe your computer isn't showing you all the files inside it. There should be randomly named files like for example 0435JHFG843HD0A things like that.... should be a few of them in there that's why the zip file is 22 kb.

Sorry to bother you again but I have a problem with the installation.
I use UI 1.2 .I've followed everything in the guide: added entries to air.ini, planes.ru, weapons.ru; downloaded the latest SAS button (I put it in MODS/STD - created new folder gui/games/buttons/(the SAS button) ) but then having the 60% crashing at loading screen.
Did I do anything wrong? Do I have to download the SAS Weapons Class or something else?

buttons file is in wrong folder. The location should be this: ...MODS\STD\gui\game\(buttons file here) If that still doesn't work you should go to the files folder and see if there is another buttons file there, if so replace it with the sas one too.
