Tracers & LoD; 3D modelers input needed
#1

~S!~ All,

Since the release of IL2 I (and probably many others) have been annoyed with the horrible thin single-colored lines the tracers become when you view them from a great distance.

Now I was thinking that this could be in the LoD of the tracers, and thus by either removing or changing the far-distance-LoD of the tracers, the horrible lines at distance will be a thing of the past.

My questions are as follows;
1: Do the tracer models really have LoD's?
2: Are they editable and is this a lot of work?
3: Will this be a/the solution to the problem?

Please feel free to think along. Smile

Edit: 1x edited for clarity.

Hi!
1. As i checked no LOD's.
2. yes,I think so because they are only a simple 3d msh files.
3. To get rid of the problem (colors) you have to edit the each weapons class file, because as i understood
the distance color of tracers are defined as hexadecimal numbers in each weapons class file! i am not sure
if it is against rules or not!

Good that you mention classfiles, I will stay far away from those! (As far as remotely possible)
Just to avoid any weird situations etc. Smile
