Sir_Galahad, can you load the map in fmb or you are out before. Did you put the line redko_palau redko_palau/load.ini in you all.ini file as requested? Because your message says the game can't find the map. You can change the map folder name and instead of redko_palau call it palau...in this case you have nothing to ad on all.ini, the game will replace the stock map by this one.

Akdavis i asked to Pacific Wrecks to send me high resolution pics too. they do a very good job. i'm wainting for their answer. Thanks for your second pic, very useful, i aslo asked for that one.

Redko I solved the matter using the console for finding the error: it seems in your load.ini there were errors regarding the redko_palau_xxxx.tga and redko_eau_verte since the files are just named palau_xxxx.tga or eau_verte.tga; I wonder why nobody noticed it!

PS: I also loaded your Iwo (just renamed it as you suggested for Palau) repaint and find it beautiful; the only thing I would like to add some bushes and trees here and there, on the ground: would you suggest any fast way to do it? Maybe copy and paste from the old IWO load.ini? What section should I look for?

little detail,but you should change

ShadeNoise = land/SandNoise.tga

to

ShadeNoise = land/Noise.tga
or
ShadeNoise = land/sk_Noise.tga

mmm this is right sir there is errors on the load.ini...but i guess people are enough skilled now to correct it by their self. Anyway it reuploaded the file right now so new players will not be affected. for the others to fix this:

- or you remane all the textures files redko_palauXXX_tga
- or you keep the actual name and just change the load.ini lines in redko_tex/palau/palau_XXX.tga instead of redko_tex/palau/redko_palau_XXX.tga

it the same. my bad people. indeed...this is strange that nobody reported that.

Yes right there should be. i have to make it. on the original map there was just a clearer texture if i remember well. i have to put hose strips, it's on wip. I didn't have the time thoose days to make an update : i was working on map_t to get less surf as some ati users seems to have fps problem with too much surf.

Hmmmm . . . hey that'd be a great place to start the Jeep with MG mod mission 8) Put in some stationary trucks, troops and stuff- add Corsairs with napalms on low level mission, and you have shake and bake Tongue

Objective for your jeep-- get out of the way of the napalms and bag a bird or two Wink

Thanks for pointing that out! Even when you come out with other textures, I'd think I will keep the old just for the above purpose.

Also- for stationary trucks, armour and such, don't need roads Wink For Jeep with MG to start on 'ground,' only needs runway location 8) This part can be done with runway 4 as well in FMB Smile

I love this re-texture redko. 8)
Just one thing though.
On Peleliu the airfield has no "runways", that is airstrip textures.
Now I certainly don't mind the "unimproved" look of the place but landing there can be a bit dicey, especially if it's near sunset or after.
Is there any way to add those, either a white "coral" or a "dirt" texture? I have quite a few mod maps so have a plethora of airfield textures from other maps that I could import if that would work.

Either way, thanks for a GREAT job!

EDIT: Never mind. I just read your post a few above this one. I look forward to that version. In the meantime I'll continue using this one. It's just too nice not to.

I'm looking to find the good ground colours to fit with the airstrips. Black and white pictures show the contrast but not the colours. According to data posted here and there ground was a kind of coral rock. It's wtill on WIP.

This should be released in the same time that some littles updates for Iwo Jima map since i want to rework its shape.
