PS: pretty much the same question for the "Mod DLV_Egypt":

Comes with 3Do objects as well, will paste into my Mods/Mapmods folder--correct?
Edit: I think I put it into its own location in my Mods folder.. :wink:

Once I am at asking:
Whenever I do a change in my Mods folder for, let's say static.inis:
Do I have to do the same change also in my "...\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Files\com\maddox\il2\objects
folder, or is one location "enough"?

Sorry for list of questions, but IMO they are both related to this map and to applying map mods in genereal.

The Southern European Houses pack instruction fopr HSFX gives pretty confusing instructions IMO,

"Install instruction for HSFX:

When extracted search for the folder Southern Europe (SEhouses\3do\Buildings) and drop it into IL2\Files\3do\Buildings
The new entries for the static.ini goes into Files\com\maddox\il2\objects\static
(backup your static.ini first, just in case!)"

Those files could go as well into my ,,,Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MAPMODS\3DO\Buildings
folder??

Dumb question : Is there a Lybia map ( done search- no luck) or can these textures go on the El Alamein & other maps as well?

The readme says

Wouldn't this latter location be the place to park these files?

You can install these mods but in theory if i don't mistake it's already part of your pack, HSFX or UP has it. Anyway, if you can't save it's you are missing objects.
The correct path for all the objects is MODS/STD/3do...

Yes there is the excellent Bada's Lybia map. It's the one you can see on my firts desert textures rendering video test. These textures could go on every map you want, you have to edit the load.ini file. That's one part, 5% of the job....the others 95% is painting.

The texture file is called Lybia because originally some of these textures are made to be used on Lyba map. I'm working on Sinai map too. I will release soon a repaint for MTO and Sands of Time

Same here, Mod DLV_Egypt should already be a part of your map i think, but again i'm not expert of this pack. You should ask on hsfx section i guess to have a good answer. The objects pack you really need i guess is those 2 from Lejo. You can pm him for more details about how install that on you HSFX pack Smile

Mmm you are right, i can't see Bada's Lybia anymore. Someone should repost the thread here, it's an excellent one an there is big number of very nice campains using it. A must have !

Thanks for all answers, redko! After installing the way instructed I couldn't save my mission, put the folders I missed into my Mods/Madmods/3Do folder asw well and voila: Works!

To make sure I also put every static-ini file-addition in both my Mods/STD/..objects/-folder as well as into the ..Files\com\maddox\il2\objects folder.
Always did it that way and it works whyever. :wink:

Beautiful map!!! Was so stunned that I crahsed with my F-86F into a little mountain ridge near coastline and ejected (thanks to special mod my plane cockpit survived the impact while every cell structure part including wings broke off..lol)..

Have got this wonderful map up and running...thanks Redko, I had to add the lowland 3 .tga but all is OK.

Now the last time I ran this map, the distant hills were a solid block of dark blue. Like the cmputer was unable to render the detail. Is this a graphic card issue or something?

I dont know but if you had to add lowland3 it's a bad sign, you must have the old version of the map. Try Dl it again, i won't need lowland3. There also a map_F to dl and ad to the map folder, maybe you are missing this.

Strange that you asking it now!. I was just reading a book about Israeli Airforce History. I will start to populate my Palestine next week. I will start with Haifa and Jerusalem. It is a real demanding map, because the whole area has change a lot since 1948. I have only seen the Modern Israel and Gaza+Westbank, so we will see what comes out. I quess that i need to use some artistic freedom ...

Yea i see. But i'm shure this is gonna be a nice map. The place is nice and the historical back ground to. Haven't released my desert texture pack yep (it will be when i finish to repaint Sands and Mto) but if you need textures take what you want. You can change the name and edit it if you want. No need to ask it's free Smile.

I have 50 desert textures now, i need to make more, about 80 i guess to release the texture pack. It will cover various kind of deserts so it could be useful for most mapmakers i guess.

SANDS OF TIME - UPDATE

Hi people. Here are the first pics of the new map Sands of time, made to complete FlatSpinMan's Africa campain. It a the tween of Desert_Online you already have.
Please rember that all this is very early wip work and this are going of course to change during the process.

I'm looking for the good "spirit" to make this map work together with Desert_Online.
