Thanks for the pics Tom. You are rendering justice to this excellent map...among the Best Ever made in il2 and leaved into the dark unfortunatly. Not enough people speaking about it.
Take your jet to Muna Kea...that SUPERB

Will do so! Big Grin
Hard times to decide where to start the flying sessions, in SandsOfTime or Oahu.. :Smile)
These places here and at SAS are map fan's paradise..!
(BTW Madrid rocks as well!)

What can I say, absolutely gorgeous map. The scenery and the detail is outstanding.

I tried the mission, wow. My machine creaked and groaned, but got through it. Confusedhock:

But for me this is a map you just have to fly for the pure joy of the scenery. 8)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. 8)

Where do the "industry" objects come from? They appear to be improved versions of the original objects from the first edition of the game.

The textures are improved versions from the originals one. I think both mod packages already contain them.

It's Vpmedia reskin pack, it affects all the stock industry objects. Use search button to find that pack.

Had not been back to this thread in a while but it is nice to see this map get the recognition it deserves, especially from such talented guys as Redko and Mission Bug Smile

I've flown Hawaii maps in other sims too; F/A-18 by Microprose is one I can remember off the top of my head- which is one of the reasons I like this map so much more then the stock one in IL-2. The atmosphere of flying over geographic formations instead of 'textures' is something that has been advanced by all these guys in some form or another. I consider myself a fan too, and seems like I spend more time sight-seeing over gorgeous maps then dropping bombs or bagging a boggie Wink

Cheers

Got a friend on UP 2.01 who can't save on the map. I've checked all the usual culprits but can't find the issue. He has all the same objects installed that I do that relate to this particular map. Would someone be willing to look at the static.ini file with me to sort out the problem?

This map is the greatest....truly awesome. Breathtaking. The detail is out of this world...it's a dream of mine to get 60fps over the harbor with about 20 static ships and 30 planes....

I'm getting close, but whenever I look toward the harbor in trackir, it seems to slow down significantly.

I'm currently tweaking a 460GTX SLI setup, I'm wondering if there's any reason why I am experiencing so much fps loss over the harbor. Is there anything I can try to tweak my system? i think Im fairly knowledgeable with tweaking the confi.ini and nhancer settings...I've tried almost every know setting using openGL, but still no luck to really know it out of the park

Any suggestions?

Katdog5 needs to know what FPS you guys are getting near and over the harbor while looking at it.

Indeed...I'm experiencing FPS sinkholes over the harbor in this map and also Truk. (even in the editor) Is anyone NOT experiencing FPS sinkholes (only over the harbor)? i.e from 60fps to 12fps ..when I look away from the harbor it jumps back to 60fps

The map is so awesome, I can live with the low fps over the harbor, its certainly not unplayable.....I'm just wondering if there's a tweak to make it higher fps or maybe something the mapmakers have to know about...It seems to be a map issue because it happens in the editor with no objects ships, planes, etc placed.

Anyway, cudos again to this great piece of art....
