IL2 1946 and Windows 7 doesn't want to start
#31

Ok I got it
First I put the folder in Users in my private folder: no joy.
I changed and put it in "public" folder and bingo!
Runs fine except video mode.
In my screen I can go up to 1920x1080
In game video settings, we can go only up to 1280x960 32bits
Ok, but the problem is I have no choice beetween "windowed" and "full screen"- the game switch don't work leaving only full screen option.
That means I have a stretched picture....
The other thing is for the time being it's still impossible to run the game from an external disk...
Anyway thanks that's a big step.

Glad to hear you sorted it out.
But as i wrote, try to have games in an other partition. its easy to do and make a new partition.
This way also if you have to reinstall windows you wont have to reinstall IL2 Smile

PS: To create the new partitions you dont need to reinstall windows as the partition program resizes and moves any files in order to set up the new partition!!!

Thanks
I'm gonna do this, PC drive is 1TO, so it easily supports that.
But as I said, this don't solve the issue of reinstalling from DVD when new patch will comes out.
As old PC still there, I will prepare "clean" installs ready for use in WIN7.
Will be a good thing to create a mod allowing more screen resolutions to match with today "movie size" screens available on the market.
Our old game deserves it.

well i use myself 1920x1200 without any problems,

[window]
width=1920
height=1200
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=0
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0

just copy and paste if you have the same!Smile
or just change the values on with and hight!Smile

Thanks

I had already my maximum settings at 1920x1050 but windowed screen.
With yours, some values set to 0 unstead of mines setted to 1, this allowed me to have the full screen view.
Like that seems simple, but thanks to share it.
In mods world, you're learning everyday.
