I'm not shore what GDFInstall.exe dose but it is needed so don't delete it.

The file it self is located in Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\redist\GDF so try installing it from that location and see what happens? But to under stand what it dose and if you need to fix some thing else on your computer before it works I think your have to head over to the C1 Forums to get an answer.

(Edit:- Like I said early in this thread, some anti-virus programs stop or really slow down the installation of 3rd party software / drivers when installing a game though steam some times. AVG and PC ToolS are two such anti-virus programs I have experience problems with installing games thought steam, so it might be a good idea to try disabling any anti-virus for a little wile, wile you install the 3rd party software / drivers.

As for what GPU stands for, it means Graphics Processing Unit or some times called Visual Processing Unit (VPU) which is the chip on you Graphics card that dose the work of producing all them lovely graphics when you play game / watch a film / surf the web ect...

gdf cant install becouse it says it will fail if the game has already been added and the error gives pathes to its plase including a path that has a gdfexamplebionary.dll. a file thats not there.

i found something saying to delete the 1c softclub in my documents and ill try that. :|

I did a backup of cod on steam and deleted 1csoftclub and ran the game no sucess but the steam window was there longer :?:
