1/72 B-17G Revell + kit review - FINISHED
#61

It will be great once finished ;o)

BTW did you thought to 'personalize' bombs ? I mean to paint on them some messages wrote by the ground crews. It will add colors and it is a nice detail ;o)
I ofently did it on my models: I painted shark months...

Here a pic which might give you some inspiration.

I didn't think about it, but I'm not doing that on this model... it should have been done earlier, now the risk of messing something up is too great. Plus, these bombs will be only partially visible when the finished bird will sit on the shelf.

Nevertheless, I like the idea, Ted, thanks for the hint! Next time I'm doing a model with a big fat bomb hangin' from its rack, I'll try and "personalize" it a bit! 8)

That's a high compliment, DM, for which I thank you. I'll do my best to keep up so that the final result will deserve it!

Yes Serpiko, DM said it right !!!

I have seen many models in my life too, I have read a lot of modelling magazines, and what you are building here is an extra-top-high-level-B17!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)

This is as great as professionals' works, a top master scale !!!

You have to seriously think about the contest in which you could present it !! I can't wait to see the final results !!!!

Keep it up Mate ;o)

Hi Serpiko,

Nice update, as usual ;o)

BTW for the ammo box, couldn't you build something in scratch or stretched plastic to figure the belts ?

Take a look at this,a lot of details there (ie you can see where the ammo box is) ;o)

And the fuselage dome riveted look is impressive !

Not much room there... i thought about it, but not sure I can get a decent result.

Well it looks good, pretty good ;o)

There are some good details too (ie reservoir in the gear bay)

You know Serpiko, the good point: I really want to buy this model and to try to do my best on it. The bad point: with my little baby, no time at all. I have to finish a 1/48 Mig15 from Tamiya (I bought super details kits from Aire: engine details, guns and gunbay, pit and flaps details), I have a 1/72 Hurricane (a good kit that I have already done 2 times) and a 1/48 F4-U Birdcage from Tamyia (a very good one, I already have done, not so much to add on it), and to finish 2 1/35 Us soldiers (Afghan series) but definitely no time... That is why I always enjoy to read your reviews waiting impatiently to be back ;o)

Take care, and keep up on the great great stuff ;o)

Ted ;o)
