My weapons selection no longer works. It has been the no.2 joy stick button and has never failed until now. I've tried everything I can think of but no joy! The no.2 button still works in my IL2 1946, so it's not the button I assume. Anyone have any ideas I might try.

Hi Stoney,

First try this;
Go into the CK game folder and delete or put a X in front of the name VSF configuration 2KB file like this; XVSF, then start the game and it will create a new one, this holds all the configuration for the game even your joy stick buttons.



If that don't work then;
Go to the buttons tab in settings and reassign another key or button for weapons make sure it works then put it back to what you had before.

Ok I wish you had said that before, now I know what it is, it has to do with your RAM, have a look here this is the mother game engine forum VSF for CK game;

This guy is having the same problem as you and I bet if you start up CK game and hit control + H to bring up the HUD you will have no HUD it will just be a green box.
I even get this some times with the horn, HUD and gun when I am working a lot with many programs open on my 2 gig RAM XP PC, for me I just turn all off and reboot the PC and all is fine again just need to clear out the RAM sticks, what we found out about this other guy above was that one of his RAM stick was dead and as soon as he replaced it all was fine again.
