It would be a great help, if somebody could make a simple template for new maps with some default rivers, roads,maybe an airfield. I mean really simple and small and with istructions too

well until we found out everything regarding making maps ...and using tools , there won't be tutorial for it . we all still learning here ....

but you have CW Microdem tuto and vp_medias texture library and for airfields ... you can past from file ( FMB tools) any airfield you like ... you'll see
