Announcing 'Die Alpen'
#16

Thank you for your encouragement. That will double my efforts.

Value 255 is 4000 m in map_h, that's the limit. Matterhorn ist 4478, so it's cut at 4000m and i didn't found it yet on the map. But got only 125 pixel with 255, there are very few mountains higher then 4000 m in the Alps. But for the Himalaya even a 1/2 scale wouldn't fit ;-). - Couldn't use the the standart bridges either, but trains and cars can walk some way upon the water.

I started six or seven weeks ago, but it took me a week to understand the basics and an other to understand gimp and the layers and i'm still learning. In the tutorials that 'map-c must be 1 bit' should be changed, switching my mostly ready 1-bit map_c to the much better (soft river banks) 8-bit greys took a lot try and error and made some problems and will make further problems.

Current status:

map_f and the eds: I update them from time to time, takes some minutes

map_c: altmost done, for some reasons i will add some smaller lakes and may be later more rivers.

map_h: If have just to iron some airport- and city grounds and to fix some rivers (which is barly possible atisfactory within the fmb, we need a river equilizer tool)

map_t: Only basic textures, markings for airports and bigger cities, basic railways and highways (i still have to fix them in hilly areas), not more. May be 2%.

texts: just a few dozens names

actors: just a few archetype cities and 20 or 30 airports. Hm. 1%.

map_r: I have one but don't understand that.

What was wrong with the links? Thank you for editing.

The prefix should be 'zip', i think.
