Now you could speak to a Mustang veteran (or read books, there are many easy to find for the US side), and he'll tell you the exact contrary. The P51 is usually superior to the serieA FW, and it's no surprise (just have a look at the aircraft shapes for sake !), and slightly inferior to the D series (again no surprise). All this is seen in game too.

If you want western front more realistic FWs, just give access to full power to the Kommandogerat, that's all !

Mustang was heavier and the laminar flow wings gave it good performance in climb,but not in turn!
The D series are heavier,because they carried 2x additional .50's.Calculate yourself the weight of the additional machine guns and the ammonitions for them.Also there were some other changes that i currently can't say,but i'll check if needed.

Also it should be available to out-turn any Mustang/P-51.
It all depends on pilot fatigue,skills and plane weight;arming and health.
