Advanced engine options thread question?
#18

As my squad and myself are at the origin of this mod (called AOC v1a), few words to help the understanding...

From one year, we have started the moding of FB in the purpose to add some functionalities in our campaign (AOC = Absolute Online Campaign). Our squad is composed by two teams, red and blue, in order to play missions based on historical background. We have done the choice to use direct IP to join missions instead HL for example.

At the beginning, these mods were used internally without any distribution to other players or squads. Three months ago, we have decided to put a part of these mods in a public area using our FTP for downloading. Up to now, we have refused that these mods were located on other website for public downloading or included in pack of different mods. This rule is observed by French website such as C6, FSM, Fusion, and so on.... In the same spirit, we hope that AAA (or other no French web site) follows this rule. For us, is a question of easy management for updating the different versions of this mods.
Moreover, in the particular case of AAA, with regards to rules which have been implemented, we are not convinced that evolution of our mods will stick to these rules and, in any case, there are not considered, for us, as a guideline to follow.

Reading previous post on this topic, I can give some informations:
- it is not necessary that all online people have the mod,
- version 1a is such as all additional functionalities (by reprogramming java class) do not modify the basic FB MDV, but, at the opposite, increase the difficulties by adding new constraints,
- based on our way of playing, this mod is mainly designed for cooperative missions instead dogfight playing.

Just see in this post our position and an explanation. However, we are available to answer to any questions if needed.

Best regards.
