Think I found the problem:

Excerpt from my log.lst

[8:24:13] INTERNAL ERROR: Wrong # of neigbours of vertices in 3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/Live.msh
[8:24:13] WARNING: object '3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/Live.msh' of class 'SkinTL' not loaded
[8:24:13] INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load mesh 3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/Live.msh
[8:24:13] WARNING: object '3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/live.sim' of class 'SIM' not loaded
[8:24:13] INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load SIM 3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/live.sim
[8:24:13] Mesh 3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/live.sim not created
[8:24:13] com.maddox.il2.engine.GObjException: Mesh 3do/Buildings/Pacific/Hangar_PBY/live.sim not created

Obviously something wrong with the Hanger_PBY mesh file is causing the issue.

Disabling the mod does not give the above errors and warnings (Hanger_PBY also appears).
