OpenGl keeps Defaulting to Original Settings
#4

Hello, Redleg. I'm using Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3.0. My Ubisoft folder containing my Strumovik folder is located on my E Drive, which is an HP Media Drive. However, I would think the problem I'm having would happen regardless of what drive I'm using.

I have an ATI X1900XTX graphics card with 512MB and am running everything on an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core Processor. I would think that should be more than enough to meet that games recommended requirements (listed here):

Computer: Pentium III 800/AMD Athlon 700 or better
Memory: 256 MB of RAM ( 512 MB is recommended)
Operating System: Windows®98/ME/2000/XP
DirectX: DirectX 8.1 or higher (included on disc)
Video Card: 3D video card (DirectX 8.1 compatible) w/32MB RAM (64MB recommended)
CD-ROM: 4X CD-ROM or better (Not recommended for use with CD-RWs)
Audio: Direct 8.1 compatible sound card
Internet/Network Play: Internet connection (56 kbps or better) or LAN for multiplayer
Hard Drive Space: 1.1 GB

Again, here are is my system info:

Regarding your question: "are you going into the controls section of the game after you've made changes to the config.ini? If so, stop."

No, that isn't what I've been doing. I first load the game, then go into my graphical hardware settings and change from DirectX to OpenGL and change Landscape Detail from excellent to perfect. Then I cloase the game and go into my game folder and change my config settings. I then reload the game and play and the changes I made are evident. However, after playing a session and closing and reloading another game later, the settings revert back to default.

Anyway, I guess I will keep playing around with it until something hopefully works. Thanks for your help.
