Just to check before you start - you've got Il2 1946 and have applied the 4.08 patch from here:

I think you may have missed a download section from the Unified Installer?

The UI1.1 comes in 8 separate download parts here:

(The link is inoperative)

and you need to have them all in the same folder before you run part 1 (easy if you save each download to desktop then cut & paste all 8 into a new folder)

And you'll need the patch from here to run afterwards
