the unfortunate side effect of all of this is that the swastika is/was a good luck symbol. There is nothing wrong with it at all.

It's just how it is perceived by the rest of the world post ww2 that gives it the bad name. I guess you could argue the same point about the Christian cross post-Crusades.

symbol x + religious/political ideology y = distortion of symbol x
