[Download] USMC: Pusan to Seoul (UM KTO pt 1)
#18

Almost complete with Inchon, moving to Wonson Invasion next, then Chosin.

Here is a little something for fun... This is one of the missions

(I do these for fun)

The following is a Mission Briefing, and it's After Action Reports.

TF77 Operational Briefing 50-0917/15/30
------------------------------------
VMF-323. Status: Operational
------------------------------------
Time: 1530 Date: 17 September 1950
-----------------------------------
Weather: Scattered Light Rain, Low Gusty Winds
(Updates Pending)

The 5th Marines are leading the advance on the north side of the Inchon-Seoul road while 1st Marines are taking the southern side. Most think the 5th will have secured Kimpo Airfield by tonight, while the 1st is moving towards the outskirts of Yongdungpo, the suburb of Seoul on the south bank of the Han River. General Almond has promised MacArthur that he would liberate the capital by 25 September, so we are all feeling the pressure.
*
As Almond's X Corps began driving east, Walker's Eighth Army launched its long awaited breakout in the driving rain. ROK units have been advancing up the east coast from Pusan, meeting negligible resistance. Everywhere, the North Koreans are breaking in flight, surrendering in hundreds, or taking to the mountains to maintain guerrilla war.
*
Bing Ding's METOC Chief says the weather over the next four days will severely hamper the Air Force's ability to support the UN advance from southeastern South Korea. So the aircraft of Task Force 77 have their work cut out for them.
*
At 1430 dispatch requested all planes we could supply immediately to hit targets in Seoul. Inside twenty minutes our crews had division one and three fully armed, on deck, and ready to go - some kind of record! Third division has been assigned to hit a railyard north of Seoul. Vehicles and AA will serve as secondary targets.
