With a frist flight in 1946, the B-36 was mass produced, so it has as much right as the YP-80 to be there, and the Ju-390 probably has more right to be in than the He-111z. And alternative history or not, the Yamato/Musashi changed the world forever, clearly marking the point that the age of the dreadnaught/battleship was over, and the age of air power had begun. Not to mention you'd be crazy if you didn't want to give it a historical torpedo run, or shoot down the torpedo bombers, or escort them, etc.
I never meant that the plane variants were a waste, or even useless. It's just that it seems like it'd make more of a difference to make an entirely new aircraft than a variant of an already in-game one. It's like deciding inbetween the 109D and the Swordfish. The Germans have 109's and Bf110's for ground attack, but there is no GB Carrier-based torpedo bomber.
