First - You can post links to other mod sites. That is not an issue. You can find SAS forum here:
http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/index.php
Second - SAS forum caters more to offline crowd. They have mods that change the originals that we have. A primary example is the Avenger. The SAS mod site has gone in and changed the Avengers FM's to make them realistic and actually flyable. They also have opening canopies for all hurricanes and Avengers ... plus some other stuff. SAS has also taken some mods that were born here at AAA and given them new slots. The He 219 was first started here at AAA, but it never got it's own slot. SAS guys took the mod and gave it an FM and a slot. So the main difference is that AAA primarily caters to online play and online compatibility, where SAS caters more to offline play. (It does not matter about online compatibility issues if you are not flying online. Several canopy mods cause wierd issues online, so AAA does not use them.)
Lastly, the "Run-Down" -
You have two mod sites with two mod packs. They are NOT compatible. However, individually you can have both AAA and SAS mods working together. I mayself have done this. I forwarn you ... it is not for inexperienced people to do easily. You better be pretty damn comfortable with doing manual installs if you go this route. But it is possible.
If you attempt this, I would reccomend the following:
1) in order to have both AAA and SAS mods, you MUST use the SAS buttons. Reguardless. Period.
2) get Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler. This will make manual mod installs very easy and better to fix if a mod does not work.
3) do a search and follow what others have done to get 4.09 + UI_1.2 + SAS mods installed. I can tell you what I have done, but there is plenty of posts around.
Hope this helped.
