HSFX deletes your F'ing files

Let this serve as a lesson for those of you who thought about doing what I just did : Don't do it.

So I was having some memory related issues and thought perhaps some files had been corrupted or whatnot, and so I figured re-installing the HSFX .sfs files could maybe help some.

So off I go to reinstall the package. I though 'hey, HSFX works with .sfs files, so why would they care what I have in my MODs folder ?'

Guess what... the first message I got from the auto installer read 'Deleting MODs folder'. Son of a...

So not only does HSFX install a bunch of miscellaneous mods the included readme doesn't begin to even poorly describe, doesn't let you choose which you want to use or not - and so the only way to remove a mod in the HSFX package is to short-circuit it with another mod modifying the same thing, which you need to place in your MODs folder - it also deletes your bleeding files.

For some reason, HSFX needs to make tabula rasa of folders it's not even supposed to use...

I lost dozens of Mbs worth of Mods, personal modifications and old mods I may never find again just because 'hey we're the face of IL-2 unification, we can do whatever we damn want'

So tell us, what's the reason ? Erase all that's been done before ? Kill the competition ?

Thanks for F'ing nothing HSFX...

Nico.

You should rather thank yerself for neglecting to read the readme!
