Werk Nummer's were clearly visible as well. If you are doing Focke Wulf's, here is an interesting note.
The RLM had issued "directives" concerning the application of the insignia as the war changed availability of supplies, and the need for a faster turnaround at the factories ensued. Messerschmidt did not adhere to all of the "rules". Black was added when it was not ordered and white was left out ...etc. Focke Wulf on the other hand, followed directives to the letter.
Also these directives changed constantly, adding to the confusion at the Me factories.
