well, it almost sounds like your talking about the AI stealing your kills. Unless the aircraft is catastrophically damaged after your attack, the AI pilots may put a bullet or two into your victim, giving them credit for the kill and not you. It works both ways tho, if you slide a few rifle caliber rounds into a plane the AI has killed (even missing a wing, just the last bullets before lawn darting) and you will get the kill.
