All the planes of that specific unit have red bottom color... to avoid being shot by land gunners at late war.

Circling around airfields in 44/45, with bunch of AA guners - expecting strife by Mustangs and Thunderbolds... was a risky job with 50% chance to be blasted by friendly fire.
