sorry, but it is a bug machine your ship pack. I quit, I cannot do a thing. I don't want to mess up my ini files, it's the first time in IL-2 modding that I think nothinh can be done to make it work. I cannot use any carriers, this is the bug that I have.

ShipPack2 works fine, there are no bugs, but it is tricky to install.

You need to give more information.

What mods pack do you have..... UI ? or something else.

Best option is to switch to HSFX or UP2.0 which both include ShipPack, but they are large downloads.

It will still work fine with UI

It took me a long time to get it working as well.
Main problem I had was duplicate copies of the ini files in different parts of my installation.

Text changes required are to:

Chief.ini ---- Main Index listing
Ships.ini ---- Details of Big Ships
Stationary.ini --- Static Ships
Technics.ini ---- Details of Small Ships --- Similar function to Ships.ini but simpler layout for single mesh hulls.
Technics_ru.properties --- this was the one which was wrongly named in the original notes. The entries define what appears in the menus in FMB

Do a search for each of these in your game folder to check for duplicates.
Text to be added is in the Add to Ini folder

If you have duplicated lines of text I think it would probably cause a crash, but I've not tested it.

I apologize, the problem is caused not by you, but by the IDIOTIC Cannon's map, WHO HAS A STATIC INI IN A EXE INSTALLATION!! WHAT I AM GOING TO DO NOW? RE-DO EVERYTHING??? WHAT A MESS

EDIT - at least, I think this is the most propable...I downloaded first the cannon's map, installed, and then I did a back up. I was not aware of the ini file.Ouf...

"IDIOTIC Cannon's map"... usually I'd give ESL forum members the benefit of the doubt but you're being outright rude.

When Canons original Channel map was produced it broke new ground by introducing lots of new objects to the game. There was no conflict at the time because he was the first. Things have moved on and the original installation exe, which was fine at the time, now creates problems.

There is nothing idiotic about the map but, as with all mods, you have to be careful.

I never use auto installers and always extract the files to a temporary folder on desktop so that I can see what might be affected by it.

Fanatic --- I doubt that your installation will be irretrievable but if you want help you need to give precise information about what type of mods installation you have and what other mods besides Canons Channel map you have installed.

To goshi:Yes, I am...does require any skill to understand that the ini should not be messed up in an exe installation? An exe re-arranges everything inside the ini, so if you don't make a back up, (as I haven't , so I read about textures, but, yes me idiot too, I thought it was just a re-texturing) you 're really messed...

To ashe: Thanks, I have this old sound mod 9.3 monster installation with approx 80-90 GB of size, the list of mods is unlimited really, e.g. I 've made my own personal sounds mods by adding-cutting sounds from elsewhere. I am trying to install all over again in my mods folder, thanks mate....

So if it is just Canons map which has caused the problem then only the static.ini is damaged.

ShipPack2 does not have any files in common with Cannons Channel map ---- I think?

If this is correct then you need to list all of the mods you have which affect the static.ini

Not many?

Fortifications Mod
Hangers Mod
Canons Map
Thailand Map

other maps which included new objects?

The mods should still be in your MODS folder but you will need to re-edit the static.ini to add the missing lines of text.
Instructions for this will be with each Map or Mod which included objects.

I would start by disabling all mods which have objects by adding a - eg -MOD LAL_Hanger

and then adding them back in one by one each time checking they are working ok

Channels map also included Blankfieldplates which have been known to cause problems.

Not sure if there is a "master" static.ini available which might make the job easier.

I found it, it causes me confict (both ship pack 2 & CAN objects!) with Zuti_DSMod! That was a tricky one, my WORST DAY in IL-2! I had to de-install all one by one, and I admit that if I remembered what DS Mod is doing, I would have been faster...Thanks very much asheshouse!
