ShipPack2-Bug report and discussion
#16

I did the copy/paste, per the readme. Removed the older shippack entries and replaced with the newer. However it seems i did it without enough care tjhe first time, since i've been able to get it to work the second time.

I don't know what the problem is with this bus, even less from wich download it comes from. I'd be happy to get a clue about what i should do to remove it permanently from my error log btw.

Now, the shippack..... is fantastic, what a variety of ships ! Thanks a lot to all involved, it will really give a new look to missions involving ships !

Mine also crashed at 70% .... until I used the chiefs.ini which the pack provided....... then i swapped my own changes across to that one....all OK

I noticed that the Stationary ships below are in the list in FMB...but cannot be selected and show on the map....although their moving versions can...???

The ships from the ShipPack (the moving ships) work normally.
Missions with them are kept.
4 ships from a StationaryShipPack (Kinou, Springfjord, Rudesheimer, Transport4)

Check Stationary.ini error must be there, maybe some typo in their entries. Compare it with first section of Chief.ini, these entries should be the same.

I do not know that made Fabianfred
But we have found out problems same.
I can tell, that I made.
I did not use files from folder STD.
I used files from folder AddTo Ini
First I have removed from INI files a ShipPack-1.
Then at the end of each file has added the text from your files.
I shall check up Stationary.ini.

@ Yuve ...the ships from the original il2 and Forgotten battles are contained in the Technics.ini ... but the later ships which came with pacific-fighters are in the ships.ini

FC ....... what about the ship sinking times? are they all now the same or what? I still have the extra ship sink times folder in my MODS folder....

Sink time are supposed to be 2-50 times longer but i didn't tested that extensively. In few tries it didn't look like it works as intended.

You can try and see how it looks, if it doesn't work use older sink files, you can have them in separate folder or overwrite files from Shippack folder.

well.... all I have got is a headache trying to see where the file names are wrong
they seem to have different names in different locations...
some call them transport 4,5,6,7
some give them their names
I'm confused and going to bed...... hope someone else comes up with the lines which are wrong and where exactly

I have not won this problem too.
Perhaps, put in the register of letters?

FC
Can, you have written them not in the English register?

I think not, on my PC everything works. :? Try to put these lines instad of yours in Stationary.ini.
Code:
Transport4              ships.Ship$Transport4            1
TroopTrans1             ships.Ship$TroopTrans1            1
TroopTrans2             ships.Ship$TroopTrans2            1
TroopTrans3             ships.Ship$TroopTrans3            1

This is direct copy from my Stationary.ini which works on my PC.

I confirm this for the static boats (did not test the moving ones yet).

After further investigation, the problem with the four ships is a compatibility problem located in fabian's ships.ini mods that i use.

Using the copy paste method inside all inis, this is the only one i need to fully replace with FC's own to get the full mod working.

Now, fabian's file introduces a reworked damage model for ships, so i guess it's lost when using FC's. FC, do you have your own damage rework of existing ships inside the ships.ini ?
