(BETA) Zimbotho 0.6

caldrail Wrote:Check your all.ini in the ...\MODS\MAPMODS\maps folder. Is the entry "CAL_Zimbotho CAL_Zimbnotho\load.ini" in alphabetical order with the others? If not, move it accordingly. It might solve your problem.

It is in the right place, in alphabetical order.
What else could be wrong?

Do you have Canons English Channel beta? That has items with it that once strayed onto my map. If the map isn't saving and everything is in the right order, then there's an object on the map that you haven't got in your sim. I've been very restrictive about which items I use for that very reason.

Dumb question but, are you using the 4.09 update?

I have the Channel Beta map working, and I have 4.09beta.
Still it is not saving a mission. I can load and build a mission, but not save it.
Could you pm me what mods you are using in your game, not just on this map, that add objects?

Thanks for the help so far.

Check your addons (Hangar 2 and Tarmac Plates) are correctly installed. I'll be in touch about addons.

They are installed as they should be.

Edit:
Or so I thought.
I tested it all, and I had new objects in my FMB.
However, when I was today making a new mission, I saw I only had 749 objects listed.
With the Hangar Pack installed, I thought, it should be more!

So, what I did was: re-installing both the Hangar and that other mod you mentioned, and now it works!

I made my first flight over your great map today. I realy fell in love with it! The details of the landscape, so impressing! And then the airfields. You have to love them! I will most sertanly enjoy making missions on this map!

Many tanks for making this map, many thanks for your help, and, above all, my apologies for the trouble I put you trough. In the end it was a mistake of myself. I should have seen it earlier. Thanks again for your help, and for making this map!

Cheers,
Joppe

Lovely map caldrail, your use of textures for the scrub is superb, you almost feel the landscape.
I've not experienced any problem building and saving a mission so I must have all the necessary objects. Only problem I found is a strange effect on one of the airfields, maybe re-installing the map might help with that.

wishing you all the best, Pete. Big Grin

I've found this problem with the following airfields: Calabar, Carnot, Rulembe, Greenfields and Tanout

It seems like you are missing the appropriate airport plates have you tried with the modified Kronstadt plates by Canon?

Thank you very much fdelre for sending me in the right direction. I reloaded Cannon's channel map but the problem remained, so I reloaded the Zimbotho map and plate folder again to no avail. I then checked the mods folder in my older version of the AAA modded game and in the 1.1 installer version and realised Cannon's objects folder wasn't present in my latest modded version. It was simply a matter of copy and paste that folder into the mods folder of the unified installer version and all was well.

Wishing you the very best, Pete. Big Grin

Not for the time being. My PC has just had a nervous breakdown over the last week or so. It's out of hospital now but IL2 doesn't work anymore. I'm still trying to figure out why.

Lucky? So far it's been a lot of hard work. The PC has had a replacement hard drive and I came close to losing a lot of important data, but thankfully that was avoided, leaving me with something of a jigsaw to get evrything linked up again. I've lost two USB ports - the PCI slots aren't reliable anymore. I spent yesterday walking back and forth from my local (and very patient) PC supply shop with parts scavenged from older computers. Finally found a configuration that runs ok. IL2 in its basic form is running perfectly all right, but something is causing a crash in the modded version. Well I'll keep at it - there is a war on you know.... Smile

Static.ini checker says:
Missing objects in your static.ini:
buildings.House$Nissen_hut
buildings.House$Luft_Wooden_Hangar
found in Title House Pacific

Where I shall find these objects, please?

I am almost decided to abandon trials to instal the maps which does not work out of the box.
Perhaps it would be better if map makers verify the installability of their products on pure unmodded Il2 versions, e.g. v 409,
then write which additional packs are necessary and sufficient for succesful installation.

Laziness is the mother of progress. My QMB missions can be found here:
