Something which actually flew in combat, and played an important role. I don't know much about Japanese bombers, but as fun as the G10N sounds, I'd rather see something which should've been in the sim in the first place than another '46 plane.

My vote goes to the G8N1.

Something that actually flew, preferably in a operational combat role, please. I'll vote for the Ki.49 just so it gets bumped close to the head of the queue. Save the Nihon 1946 stuff until we get something close to a full IJA operational OoB. If you must go with a 4-engined heavy bomber, I'd vastly prefer the G8N Renzan, which at least flew.

Unless you have serious experience modeling, skinning, and, most of all, creating FM and DMs, you're best off working with a team. Also, unless you're very experienced, you're better off going with a well-documented airplane, otherwise you'll be scrambling to find the references you need to build your model and the performance data necessary to "make it fly" in the game.

Making new airplanes for the game is damned hard and the 3D modeling and skinning are the easiest parts. Historically, it seems that most novices abandon their projects or get frustrated and work on the project fitfully after a few months, so the project gets stuck in Limbo. If you look at the WIP sections, you can count on both hands the number of new aircraft with their own FM and DM (as opposed to "Frankenplanes" or those with cribbed FM & DM) which have made it into the game as compared to the dozens which have been proposed and started. If you're a novice, you're better off choosing a less ambitious project, such as object modeling, skinning or campaign-building and building up to bigger things. I don't mean to be a jerk here, but that's the reality. If you are an experienced modder, my apologies. In any case, best of luck.

ki-49, all the way!

yeah, something that actually matters would be nice Smile

We have limited Japanese planes already.. a float plane or a drawing board bird would be a waste of resources IMO

The P1Y, Ki49 and 45 would be good choices, The G8N is nice but only 4 prototypes were on the ground at wars end.
but I will vote for the D4Y Judy
The D3A needs her big sister

Though for a big bomber... a Ki67 "Peggy" would be a great addition before considering a G8/G10

I'm another that would like to see flying in this sim WW2 planes that really participated in quantity to the conflict.
My suggestion is:

G3M Nell
Ki-48 "Lily"
Ki-49 Donryu
Ki-45 Toryu

The big 4 or more engined bombers are not so importat, as they had no active role, (mostly flew only as prototype, or even not left the drawing board).

Cheers

I'd like to change my vote to this.

It's the Consolidated B-32 Dominator that actually saw combat in the Pacific at the very end of the war. If there's votes for the Beaufort, why not for this.

I think that the Ki-49, or the G3M "Nell" are a good idea. Smile
