Ohh come on BC, if we keep the "standards" that pleg set, then this sim would be piss poor to say the least, after much research on planes from this era, i have found way too many issues with flight models and aircraft structures. Lets just say oleg was slightly bias in his FM and planset. he has made a good base for this sim and now it has taken a new direction. And FYI, i am not a newbie to il2, i have had it since its release way back when..... i have even been attacked in ubi forums on many occasions for asking oleg to sort out these FM and planeset issues.
if oleg had a standard that was more realistic as opposed to lets get this game out there as quick as poss, then maybe it would be different, but it is not.
what the modders have done, is give this sime a new lease of life, which is as good as saved it from the grave, that is FACT. i think many people would agree with me that after 10 years of il2, modding was what it needed to make it again, i for one had almost given up on it and left my copies of il2 aces pf and 1946 on the shelf to gather dust. but now i am rejuvenated and my interest in the sim has risen like the phoenix.
His sim IS being honoured, by keeping it real and not changing HIS planes and FM's. and by getting more people than ever to continue to use it.
