Hi Folks,
I love Freddy's cockpits but goddamn I cannot get them into my install without having a problem.
I had the early series working, but I was interested in not having the photo in the pit.
In addition, if the reflector gunsight got hit, it shrunk in size by about 1/7. Also, the power cable for the reflector sight was over the cannon ammo counter, which I tend to refer to alot.
I know all these problems are well known, and have been resolved one by one.
I know these were all betas and understand the risks.
As I installed the fixes one by one, each led to a new dilemma; I know that you computer savvy guys out there have no problem navigating through layers of files and folders and know what the meaning of hier.him and all that is, but I would suggest that quite a few users are just simple guys like me who love airplanes and want to fly them. Maybe I should just stay away from betas but I can't. I'm jonesing every time a I see a new mod.
I am by no means impuning your work - I love every avenue that is opened, and I couldn't hope to do it myself. I thank you for each and every hour you have all committed.
I was ecstatic when I saw the "Ultimate 109 pit selection". then I installed it and fuel tubes were missing in the Fseries and the G2. My attempts to apply the fix failed, and in trying to correct the problem by relocating files into folders of the same names in different places and then losing track of what I moved where, I botched my entire mod install - for the 7th time!
(I know I'm supposed to backup everything but my drive is too small, and my IL2 modded install is up to about 13GB (I have a lot of skins), so I can't fit it on a memory stick I can afford.)
The upside is everytime I go through the anguish of redoing things I am more and more efficient at it.
Now, moving ever so carefully through my 8th full install for my modded version of IL-2 1946, I installed the ultimate pack first, before any other cockpit mods, and what happened? The sighting ring (reflected light ) is in the correct place on the front windscreen, but the reflector glass and projection unit is - you guessed it - outside my left front sidescreen at a drunken angle.
What the F$%T$%$%^$%^$^$^!
For you computer folks this must sound like I am a moron - I assure you that I am not, but the unfamiliar realm of files and folders is not innate to either my mental nature nor alas to my education.
Can someone tell me is there a complete Bf 109 cockpit set out with the following characteristics :
Freddy's beeeeautiful cockpits
No pin up photos
Reflector cable not over ammo counter
Reflector sight does not shrink when damaged
Glass Fuel line joint in place in all models
Reflector/Projection unit in its rightful place on the front instrument panel and the targeting ring correctly illuminated
A proven simple direct and well articulated installation procedure
Anyone ?

Just to let you know that when you pause the game when you are a Bf-109F4 and are attached to the Ju-88 Mistel, there is a big hole. ill see if i can get you a picture but the cockpit panels, canopy and instruments are transparent.
... as far as I know Freddy's Ultimate cockpit mod is not compatible with Hunin's mod, and Hunin is currently working on a compatible version + a few secret extras ..... so you've got to choose between the 2 mods if you want to avoid the bugs ....
Thanks for your reply, FZ. That's great news indeed.
I'm looking forward for HansIn's mod update...
I downloaded this and it worked, does anyone know of a 190 AHS or if one has been made?
Is the same problem which affects the K14, will have to wait, any update of the master Hunin for these new aircrafts
