pe-8 bomber cockpit mod? mission building mod?

Hi jolly. Well if I could have my wish it would be to have the pe-8 bomber with cockpit and gunner position mods.

Also it would be nice to get a mod that would enable you to raise any object other than just lights,,smoke etc.

I picture runways hovering 500 feet off ground. You could make some really neet obstacle courses and tunnel type structures this way. Why would I want to do that you ask. Why not? :-)

The PE-8 is underway !

& Yeh sounds fun -i guess its another thing to look into -give us some time & we'll try it out but im not sure its really very possible for us to do

an FMB mod would be awesome

ive thought of this myself, im sure racers have too (though they do amazing things already)

this would also mean active objects like AAA batteries could be "placed" on buildings, certain terrain features...and so much more

ahhh FMB,

thanks to excellent guiding by fellow FMB addict i was able to increase view distance for fires and smoke but Crimea Rock1 seams to be tough one for me .... any advice please?

And one more thing , do i need prog. like 3dmax for opening certain tga files ? ( would like to change color of the metal runway)

for ages on the ubi forums I have been asking if it is possible to have a time-out/delay start on the fire and smoke objects?

and also if the ship sinking time can be increased by at least a factor of five....?

If you know what the .tga file is called and it's pathway, you can probably do this without opening the original. As an example, put the line: 3DO/Cockpit/Bf-109E-7/Bf109E4Equipment.tga into your Filelist, then make a Bf-109E-7 folder in your 3DO/Cockpit folder and place a blank white .tga titled Bf109E4Equipment.tga in there.

Fire up the game and you will see some part of the 109 cockpit components 'reskinned' with this new tga. I think the same thing must be the case with the runway skins. Just need to find the name and pathways. the size and content of the .tga you can work out through trial and error.

I had a sniff around the various forums and found these references. None that mention metal runways though, but interesting nonetheless.

effects/Materials/GroundExp.tga

effects/Materials/SmokeA.tga

effects/Materials/SmokeATrail2.tga

effects/Materials/WaterSplash.tga

effects/Materials/fireA0.tga



Might be able to make bigger and better effcts though.

Yup bee,
this part:"the size and content of the .tga" is troubling me , i probably could swap metal material with grass or earth ones but ....

what the h*ll i just want to know why i could not open those files in general.

Well how else i'm supposed to send him files?

Ok here is how to increase visibility for smoke/fire:

you need this files:

WhiteSmoke.mat
WhiteSmokeFar.mat
WhiteSmokeTrail.mat
burnfire0.mat

put them in :
files\Effects\Materials\

Now open every file and edit line: VisibleDistanceFar with desired distance

VisibleDistanceFar 50000.0

Add to filelist.txt

Effects/Materials/WhiteSmoke.mat
Effects/Materials/WhiteSmokeFar.mat
Effects/Materials/WhiteSmokeTrail.mat
Effects/Materials/burnfire0.mat

Caution!!! This is very FPS sensitive
