I still don't see what the drama is about.. We have just seen at least a dozen photos of 109's with mirrors on, so clearly it's more than one or two.. People aren't asking for something that didn't happen are they? And I agree, no-one bats an eyelid over the gyro gunsight.. But all the 'experten' suddenly go pear shaped over a mirror.. Gawd strewth! What's it all about guv'nor???

It should not be a question of whether you want it or not, nor a question of cheating. Both of which are just childish bullshit. I bet there are few out there would dearly love to swap the 6x50's on the Mustang for something with a bit more punch, no?

It is a question of whether or not it was like that back then. That simple.

If 109"s had mirrors, then all that needs to be done is prove it. I think you will struggle as there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary, but good luck anyway.

Who knows you may well succeed, after all it only took one photo of the P-51D's custom mirror for it to be deemed a good idea to adorn all of them with it. For every singe photo of a P-51 with a custom mirror set up, there can be found 100's without, with ease. 1000's with a little effort.

Bottom line here is, the tools to mod things are publicly available, so anything anyone says here can only be seen as discussing guidelines. It won't be long before the atom bombs the homing missiles and the dreaded "star wars" mods start to appear like they did everywhere else

P.S. The K14 gun sight was used in quantity on late model Spits. It was another British design directly copied and manufactured in the USA for the US military, just like the Rolls Royce Merlin engine.

Well, if some one wants to fly 109Es historically correct and use the mirror at same time:















Any way at the end of November all these mirrors were removed, the rear view in a 109 was better with a wingman, the mirror was not useful (to many vibrations).

By the way P-51D had exactly the same problem with mirrors but better rear view, for that reason no many mirrors in pictures.

that looks rather convincing to me... if only for the E's...

We,the blue,'ve prayed and waited so much time to get a new Revi gunsight colours,and now it's soooo hard to give us one damn mirror?!
You have now mirrors for such planes,that never had it!

So i can't see what's the problem to give us a mirror too!I have "no vibrations :lol: " simulated in my 109 cockpit,so i'll be able to use it!

SO to the moderators: PLEASE GIVE US THIS MIRROR FOR THE 109'S.

It seems that only the early models had them, so, from a historic view point, would just for the E's not be a good way to go?

Can we stop being childish gits for a moment.. I rarely fly for the blue side so I have no real axe to grind... We HAVE convincing pics that at least the early 109 models were fitted by some Luftwaffe flyers. Just because it wasn't a factory item doesn't mean it wasn't implemented..
And because of this historical fact, we now have people complaining that we will soon have atom bombs being installed.. C'mon, lets be flippin adults about this... Give them the friggin mod! Its fact, historical and correct..
If you don't want to use it then dont use it.. it's so simple and grown up!!

Its different from WW view inthat WW view can be controlled by the server settings. If you don't like WW view then don't fly on a server with it enabled. But the gunsights can't be controlled by the server. In all honesty though, most of the community out there are probably shit shots anyway and a new gunsight will make bugger all difference.

Anyway, back to the point at hand, whats the verdict on the mirrors? I don't think it should be dictated by apoll. There was never a poll for the red mirrors and gunsights.
