Sorry if my last post lacked clarity.
I was continuing the discussion about the Beaufighter and the possible installation of a rear gun in the observer position.
I was not suggesting to replace any airplane with a sub-varient of the Beaufighter, just add a rear gun to the one we have in the game. People will be able to chose the variant they want by instaling the download or not.
I was merely stating that we have several sub-varient available as a point supporting different version of an airplane available. If this is impossible to add a new plane to the plane list then so be it.
Well as I said - to have a sub varient added - it must REPLACE a plane in the list.
If we were to just have a rear gun added - where there isnt one... imagine the problems if encountered online...
In addition to this - if a gun is to be added - it must be visible from the outside... on the 3d model.
Its a pity because it should be added. Just, not possible with the current situation I suppose.
And if changing the payload of a plane is a no no in this site, the same is for adding a gunner (it's adding a weapon)
I don't think MrJolly meant "no no" as in a morality issue. I think he was saying that, because there is no gunner position there to begin with (in the game, that is) then there is nothing to link the gunner/turret position that he would put in there.

There were something like six version of the Beaufighter in development for Il2 and only one of them made it in. Not all Beaufighter variants had a turret.
Thank you Mr Jolly for the reply. That clarify the issue
Unfortunate that the game will not allow the placement of a rear gunner or even an observer in the Beaufighter.
How about fixing the adjustable seat for the Hellcats and the Seafires?
Still I don't think is a problem to add an observer view with no gun like I suggested for the Ki-46. In any case using a single 0.303 gun was not very effective.
lol.. I've fired several hundred rounds with a .303 MG.. I would think your opinion would change somewhat if you were on the recieving end..
Absolutly Mr Trooper - I've used a .303 hunting - and they aint no pissy little gun!
