Little quick fix request

It always amuses me when flight simmers trot out the line that eight 303s were not very effective.

ha.. it's funny, but I spend alot of time using weapons of all types and calibres for the military..
I know I'm lucky in some respects to do what I do, but it always amazes me when people (with good intensions I know), make generalisations about weaponry they have never actualy operated because they have read it in a book somewhere.. I've seen the results of these things on armoured and unarmoured vehicles, sandbagged positions, bunkers, woods and tree lines, and unfortunately, on human beings..
Thank god the majority of people on here only get to experience firepower in a game...

I suspect that the effects of the smaller caliber rounds will be more apparent in SoW:BoB with the more detailed damage models and more "parts" to break. I get the feeling we will see less fighters downed in a ball of parts and fire and a lot more "smokers" going in.

I agree that the visual part will be improved, but if you think that the DM will be radically different you are wrong. After years and years of "flying" missions, I am convinced that they are quite accurate. One example: The variance of damage that the various 0.303/7.62/7.9 guns do in various targets.I remember once (in the begginings of PF) I did a far east mission with a spitfire and I was horrified when my 20cm shells finished until I shot down a Ki-43 (firing the 0.303s only) with a single burst!

I am not talking about the graphical depiction of the damages, but the affect that these damages will have on the flying model, as well as the level of damage accuracy that particular type of shells will have (again not in the graphical rapresentation, but in the flying model).I have no doubt that the graphical rapresentation of the damages is vastly improved, I am not talking about that.

I was speaking about this line:

Oleg Wrote:Sample: Up to 20 separate damages of single engine modelled.

From the pic below that line it seems to me like he was speaking about damage to internal workings of the aircraft to me, not a visual effect.
