And thank God, frankly, that the Slot is NOT up to
typical Il2 standards for maps. We all know how the typical Il2 standards for maps is actually
not very high at all- we have several maps from the official developers such as Burma, and Norway, Slovakia, etc that are very,
very nice pieces of work-
but they are not the typical Il2 standard for maps either. They are much higher than the typical il2 map standard
The typical Il2 map standard is fairly low to be honest. Maps with places that did not exist during the second world war, improper place names, etc...how can these maps be defended as "high standard"? i assume that originally, a lower standard for maps was acceptable. But still, having suburbs that didn't exist in WWII on a map is fairly inexcusable- and I also harbor a sore spot still over the number of houses that are smack dab centered on roadways in many maps
So be proud that your map is not the "standard quality Il2 map". It's funny, there are plenty of people who wholeheartedly agree that 3rd party campaigns are better than anything the devs made, and that 3rd party skins are better than anything that shipped with the sim, but somehow, maps can't be made that are high quality...?? very shaky logic
The Slot will be a benchmark for maps- professionally developed or otherwise- if it is even half as good and half as detailed as the WIP pics show
