No, I think he said that it was stupid for someone to say it will give you a mega advantage (which is basically what you were saying).

Would be nice to have the mirror as an option like in the loadout... Smile

100 posts in the poll (54% in favour), ample photographic evidence - why is this still going round and round in circles?

Oh that's right...cry-baby red pilots giving the rest of us a bad name - my bad

P.S. I fly predominantly red in a red squad...It was historical, let's have it.

That's an idea. Or an aircraft could be cloned & have one version with the mirror & one without.

No need to clone anything mate.. With aircraft in game that have mirrors, if you don't want the mirror you just hit the toggle button and its gone.. Smile

I fly mostly blue and I don't feel like 109s need a mirror... but, I am not against such a thing and I don't consider it a cheat.
Most of the time my friends (109s fliers also) say:
"Look, the germans didn't fit mirrors on their aircraft because they didn't want to relay on that thing for checking their six etc... thus their tactic in this respect was superior"
I replay:
"Look, all current supersonic fighter planes have at least 2 mirrors, the speed you could be bounced (or cought by a missile) is much much higher and still they find those mirors useful... so give me a brake with this 'We fight with just one hand and one leg' argument" Big Grin

The only small issue would be if that mirror slows down in real life the plane... as it was fited externaly... but, I thing this would be debatable also.

The community has said it time and time again: we have thepoll results in favour of the mirror. Not only that but we have HISTORICAL PROOF to show that the early 109's did actually have a mirror! So where are we going with this? Or are our modders still too red oriented to bother with blue?

Comments about Bf 109E

Bf 109E-1:
After the test of prototypes Bf 109V13 and V14, E-1 was brought into production in summer 1938. The outlines of nose section changed drastically from Jumo powered Bf 109B, C and D version. The major difference was that radiator in early versions was installed under nose but in E version two separated radiators were equipped on under surface of the wings.

Bf 109E-2:
Bf 109E-1 fought in the Spanish Civil War with an armament of four 7.92mm MG17 guns, but the firepower was clearly inadequate against heavily armored aircraft such as Russian built I-16. So the improvement of E-1

As an avid virtual 109 pilot, I personally would not use the mirror. I am so used to flying without it, I probobly wouldnt even realize it was there.
