Yeah, everyone is waiting to see what will be required to run Storm of War, I say that you might be a very old man before you see that sim. Live today to its fullest and that means to not wait around because something better might come tomorrow.
I understand mate.. There are always priorities. But looking at your specs, you will have to bite the bullet sooner rather than later.
I'll never ever buy another pc from a retailer, its far cheaper to get the parts yourself and upgrade and canniblise your old one.. Thats the only way I've been able to afford to do it, and even my pc is now two and a half years old so its on the way out too!
I did that with my old gateway years ago. All that was gateway was the tower case after I got finished. Then when I got finished, Aces HIgh flight sim changed and would not work on what I had just upgraded.
Last time I upgraded mine was back in 2005. It's lasted but im long overdue for an upgrade
I'll go with Trooper & say dont get one from a retailer, get a custom build or build it yourself. It is much cheeper & you know exactlly whats going in it.
Definitely build it yourself. You can spend $800 on a cutting edge system by building, or pay that to a retailer and end up with a mediocre machine at best.
this is the slot topic, yes?
this week is the big push for us to make that end of the month self imposed deadline. we hit a little snag and had to make our 42 Late map (Nov) and move it to 42 Dec for playability. it meant having Munda there or not.
the 42E and 42L maps are good but probably won't get as much online play due to the base distances, unless you throw in the carriers that were there.
43E and 43L will get the most play i bet.
The distance will be a challenge. I'm still hopeful some genius will some up with a save game feature that will not just save our missions, but our personal lives as well.
