Well...it was just a test......obviously just plonked on the landscape nto choosing an area where it could blend in better.... and the colours could be altered in Photoshop to match a bit better...

It does have that 'shimmery' look from a distance....the very thing i didn't like about CFS1&2

but there is other way to try and depict famous monuments or constructions...... I suppose 2D is better than nothing :?

tried to adjust the colours...and it's not too bad........ the trees and other objects show through it too

Hi!

This is a great map, but I have a problem. I get graphics distortion when flyin/ looking at build up areas. I am using a club 3d ati x1950 xt with cat 7.8 drivers and the gfx dlls of march the 13.th. I also get this kind of glitch when viewing the Me 262 flying by with the r24 [?] rockets at a far distance on any other map. So I think it must be the rocket racks that trigger the problem.

The Slot and the channel map do not have this problem.

Somehow some building or object seems to be indigestible to my gfx card or driver like the racks of the r24 rockets.
Perhaps anybody else is experiecing this glitch and knows a fix.

Hi Fred,
I tried a half assed attempt on Friday night to try and get the new Thai map to save but to no avail!
The only time that I have been able to save missions was when I was using your normal objects map
before the official release came out.

This morning I uninstalled ffb_Thailand map objects file and Cannons Channel map and objects file.

I started with a fresh static ini from Fisniky then added the 4.09 appendages to it.
I have not had too many mod objects in my old static ini just your all in one mods fred and some vehicles etc. so it was ok to replace.

I reinstalled the Cannons Channel map and Objects file. His objects were the first to go into the static ini. I was able to see all of his objects in the objects list in FMB. GREAT!!
I made a small mission and it saved easily NO PROBLEMS.

I then reinstalled LaL Hangers Mod and put his data into static ini. I could see all the hangers in the Objects FMB list. AWESOME!

I also reinstalled his airfield plates into the mods folder on its own.

Thinking about the Cannons Channel map I used the same method to install your map.
Installed the map, easily, then your objects file into mods folder (Thanks for the info Flyzo).
I then put your info for static ini for the first map into my static ini. LOW AND BEHOLD I was able to see your trees for the first time in the FMB objects list and other objects for the first Thai map.

Thinking that it is going along just like Cannons map and objects install my hopes were getting higher and higher.

Made a small mission and couldn't save it. OH MY GOD!!!
Tried many times but to no avail.
I could though fly your missions without any problems.

I recall that Russian Properties and Russian Weapons were a problem with you WIP map took them out and the game runs fine but your map still wont save.

So I'm stuck on Version one of the Thai map. I hope you or others could put me in the right direction.

You know that I'd kill for this map because I like you live in Thailand .

Thanks so much for the chat Fred,

Living in Thailand I do not get very frustrated at all as I have a great tolerance level.
I always see that something will come of it at the end.
Will re try your static ini tonight.

Well, well, well...
I just read the six pages which make me think of a queen's song : "another one bites the dust"
you know what ? i 'm unable to save missions in Fmb but i've got a special thing : i can if i don't put any objects on map, i mean i can if i only put planes. Everything goes fine with canon's map and rone's hangar. Anyway i would like to say thanks to fabianfred for his great map and i stay tuned....

Welcome to my map Galoub ...(and I'm a Queen fan too :wink: )

As there are many who have installed the map without problems....(we only tend to hear from those who have difficulties....lol) I suspect the problem must be at your end :wink:

Be patient and try to understand the mod structure and file paths etc. and you will probably discover the fault one day.

Several people cannot save, but are able to play my missions OK.... :? It baffles me Confusedhock:

Hi Fred,

Tried your static ini about 277kb in size.
I saw all the objects that I had from Cannons map and your objects in the FMB list in 3DO
but still couldn't save.
I then tried installing the second patch on to the first patch.
Still couldn't save.

Treied the new mission no problems with flying it.

I hope to save missions one day as you want others to make missions and campaigns that will be me in my free time.

I may have a look for that Cannons Blister object in the ini. just to see I saw it in the object file

I CAN'T WAIT.

ok nevermind i think i find who's guilty in this affair, his name actors.static when i use the one from the version 1.0 everything goes fine but the patched version doesn't work for me...
dunno if it's very important, anyway it works .... hope it wwil help

That pagoda 02 is the normal one...with added gold leaf (like the Buddhists in Thailand like to place on Buddha figures) ...but I didn't want to make the download too large so i didn't add the new folder..

It shouldn't be a problem..... having more objects listed in your static.ini than are actually on the map

It is like have more stuff in the pantry than you use in the cake

NOT having stuff in the static.ini which is needed on the map is the problem

after all...a default map of Midway doesn't use many objects from the static.ini..but it has no problems

the actors.static from the Patch V.2a has increased the size of the airfield at Mingladon and added a few extra bridges
cannot see why it should cause a problem :?

I just looked at the actors.static and noticed that it mentioned the "Flag France' ..which i didn't included in my objects......
it goes in the ETO flags folder........
and needs these lines in static.ini
