Now the first playtest results have come in and applied, and the Campaign is posted and available for download! It can be found in the specialised downloads section on M4T: http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3
The date is March 1942. You are a fighter pilot in the US 49th Fighter Group, rushed to Darwin, to defend the area against the sustained air-offensive that the Japanese have launched against the northern coast of Australia. (Up until this date there has been no Allied air assets in the area, and no Australian air units are yet available.)
This is a semi-historical, 16-mission static campaign, set during the spring and summer of 1942. You are a USAAF fighter pilot flying the P-40 during the so called "Australian Blitz", when northern Australia was under heavy attack from Japanese air units. Most mission that takes place, happens on the correct dates and tries to follow history.
Between February 1942 and November 1943, during the Pacific War, the Australian mainland, domestic airspace, offshore islands and coastal shipping were attacked at least 97 times by aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. These attacks came in various forms, from large scale raids by heavy bombers, to torpedo attacks on ships, to strafing runs by fighter planes.
