I installed ShipPack v2, but i have a problem with the chief.ini file, when i extract the file or i add the lines, when i launch FB, the game crashes at 70%. Could you tell me where's the problem?

No, as far as I'm concerned but if somebody want to do it he has my approval.

Problem is always the same, you have more instances of ini files in your mods folder. Only one instance of each of the ini file is permitted.

As some mods use same files you must decide which mod you want to use or merge files into one file.

It has been explained in this thread how to do that.

all my ini files are in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\ShipPack\com\maddox\il2\objects
air.ini
static.ini
ships.ini
technics.ini
stationary.ini

When i add the chief.ini file the game crashes (by the chief.ini of the pack, or when I add lines to the original file)

So I can use the stationnary ships of the pack.

I had this problem with some other mods that require chief.ini installation , can I put that information elsewhere?

no actually, but it makes me wonder... did you search for the file being already there someplace else within the game structure? double files can do that.

Unfortunately before my previous I have search in my IL2 folder double file and about chief I find nothing; I don't know what it do and when it being put in the folder and from what? (sorry for my twist english)

I have find the same problem with TANK mod because it's chief file crash my load at 70%!

If someone can explain better what chief is , it's installation and if it's conncted with wrapper perhaps is possible to find a solution!

I had a lot of problems when I installed ShipPack 2 due to compatibility issues with the Static Aircraft mod. You may have duplicate files within your MODS folder. Do a search for each of the ini files. If you have more than one then you need to merge them.

I always check what files are going to be installed before installing them, and keep backup copies of a working MODS folder.

are you taking a vanilla chief.ini from the game and adding conent or are you just saving the "add to chief.ini" files as cheif.ini? this will not work

you need to extract a vanilla chief.ini first where the content of the modpacks is added.
I think.
can be done with the sfs extractor.

I once made a full set of inis that would have worked with all the object mods available but it got pulled by the Moderartors.

I think nothing about flavour I suppose!

If the correct name for this file is 'vanilla chief.ini' I have write wrong , if the correct name of the file is only 'chief.ini' I have write right.

About the file:

In my original MODS I haven't find any chief.ini so I have initialy copy the chief.ini present in the d/l file but the 70%CTD is occurred immidiatly....I have read again all the reply to this topic and

I have try to merge the chief.ini by winmerge and the CTD is always at 70%
I have try to disable the static_ac and again 70%CTD
I have try to had a unique **.ini location (about technics.ini that I have in static_ac and STd simultaneously) and without any other modification....70%CTD (with this double technics.ini installation all work fine w/out ship pack and tank1.0)
I have try to have unique **.ini file in static_ac and....70%CTD...what else!!!!

I have to try again!!!

I HAVE MADE AN INSTALLING ERROR , NOW IT WORK PERFECTLY!!!!!!

-Check in Static_AC if there is the COM folder inside (I have find one there) with stationary.ini and technics.ini , copy the two .ini files in the STD/COM....OBJECTS (merging them with possible same file you find there) , DELETE STATIC_AC/COM folder; now you have unique **.ini files location.

-Install the add to ini patches (without the ship.in add on) you got with the mod (TECHNICS_RU.PROPERTIES apparently don't work in my PC so try to add and -add for verify in your specific case) merging them with yours **.ini files

-Install the ship pack STD/COM.....ship.ini in your mods/STD/COM.....OBJECTS folder (THIS IS WHAT I MISS)


NOW IT SHALL WORK

What about an improvement with even the IJN CVL like the Shoho-Zuiho-Chitose-Chiyoda class and a CVE like the Tayho class??

What abouth the Hiryu (the IJN heroine of Midway) and the Taiho?

looking for some help...
I've got unified installer, vtrelut's Dgen campaigns french wings (I really enjoy) and I recently tried to install the ship pack 2. I've read the thread, so I disabeld the static AC...
All works fine, except that I 'm no more able to look backwards or to use any views except the ones commanded by the F1 to F6 buttons...
Unfortunately I didn't keep the original static.ini, as I also have installed the diff
